Happy Halloween!

Anyone plans for the day?  Did you/are you dressing up?  Passing out candy?

Re: Happy Halloween!

  • Happy Halloween....BOO! :)

We'll had out candy after work. Though a lot of kids around here hit up houses on their way home from school (I found that totally bizarre) so we don't usually get a LOT of kids in the evening. But we have chocolate and a jack-o-lantern.

  • Happy Halloween!

We got our power back last night so Halloween is still on :)

We bought candy, and our furbaby will be in his pumpkin costume to help us give it out!

  • Happy Halloween!

H and I never dress up and we really don't have a lot of kids in our neighborhood. We tried giving out candy last year but no one ever came by other than like 1 kid. So we didn't even buy candy this year and we are just going to turn off the lights.

I wish we had more kids around I love seeing them all dressed up!

  • I have today off, so I'm going to relax =]  Probably do some cleaning around the house.

I dressed up this weekend as Ariel, and my H went as Prince Eric.  Our trick or treating was on Saturday night here, so we didn't pass out any candy because we were gone partying.

I'm especially proud of my costume, since I put it together on my own and sewed the skirt myself!  (I'm trying to teach myself how to sew).  I'm happy with the way it turned out.

  • I'm studying and doing school work most of the day today before classes.  We live in a condo, so no kids will be coming, hence no candy to pass out.  The most that I'm doing to celebrate is baking cookies (the premade kind) and taking them to my classes tonight. We usually dress up, but we were in FL over the weekend for FIL's birthday, so we didn't go to any parties.
  • Sadly, our house is at the very end of a cul-de-sac, (the cul-de-sac end), and at the top of a hill.  We've learned over the years that no kids want to climb that big ole hill, even for candy.  But, each year, I buy candy anyway, just in case :)

Last year we had one little girl.  That's it.  She lives in the cul-de-sac with us! :)

We also missed our halloween parties by attending my SIL's wedding in Puerto Rico.  Totally worth it, but a bummer that we didn't do anything Halloweenie this year. (heh, I said weenie. )

  • Nothing out of the ordinary here. I'm not big on Halloween and we don't get any kids at our apartment so we don't even pass out candy or dress up. We didn't even do costumes or go to any parties this year. However, my work has child care and the kids go "trick-or-treating" to all of the offices and it's SUPER adorable! Definitely the best part of my day! :)

  • I'm not sure if we will have trick or treaters tonight, since this is the first Halloween for us in this house. The house we were in before was the first (or last house) on the street and there were no kids near by. We did buy candy, so I am hoping to see some cute kids in costumes. We don't have a sidewalk, but people walk by all the time. So, we shall see. Otherwise, we don't dress up or go to parties. One day I would like to go to Salem because, well, they do Halloween up right!
  • Just working today and it is a slow day so we are getting a lot of paperwork done!

I told H to pick up some candy after work today but who knows if he actually will or not. We don't get that many trick or treaters (2 last year) so I told him to get the big boxes of candy because I want to be known as the cool house :)

We had our Halloween party this past Saturday and it was so much fun! H and I dressed up as the SNL Spartan cheerleaders.

  • This is our first year in our house for Halloween....the neighbor told us to expect 300-350 kids! AHHHH! SO we bought a crapload of candy (whatever was on sale).

H will probably end up passing out most of the candy to the little ones as I am going to go help my brother and that my nephews trick or treating at the mall. The mall I used to work in has this awesome tradition that they ask the stores to give out candy to kids between ages 2-6 for 2 hours (4-6) in exchange for a 2 dollar donation or bring a canned good for the foodbank. Its super popular since its inside, not dark and rainy for the little kids! (its also nice that its a bit earlier so kids can still get to dinner/bed on time). So I'll do that and then come back and hand out candy to the older kids who show up later in the evening.

We have costumes, but I don't think we will use them, since its a couples costume mine makes no sence without H, so I guess if he puts his on to hand out candy I'll put mine on when I get home. He is a ninja and I am a 'chinese call girl'....think rush hour 2....with the skimpy red dress etc. We might just save them for yet another year since we didn't go to any parties this year.

  • Well it sure doesnt feel like Halloween here between all the cities rescheduling to this weekend because of all the rain and wind etc...but ontop of that well...I spent the morning in ER because I just couldnt take this cold anymore...well turns out I have Bronchitis and the dr even made me get an iv and gave me some fluids cuz I was dehydrated...ehhh...thats how my day has been....so poor hubby home from work cuz I scared him silly with er...ugh...but its nice cuz now we are just cuddling and watching Halloween shows lol
