Anyone have a Samsung Galaxy III?

We're leaning toward upgrading our phones in February to smart phones. We were just going to get iPhones, but DH saw a commercial for the Galaxy III and liked it. Any feedback on this phone is appreciated:)

Re: Anyone have a Samsung Galaxy III?

  • It wasn't a choice when I upgraded, but my last two phones were Android based operating systems.  And I have heard good reviews on the Galaxy III.  CNET usually has good reviews on tech stuff that are not biased.
  • DH has one and loves it.  The camera is nice and faster on the shutter speed than my iPhone 4s.  Great display, big screen, really light.  The 4G on Verizon is nice, too (my iPhone doesn't have it, the new version (s) does). Go to the store and hold it in your hand.  Personally I think it's almost too wide for my hand but it's perfect for a guy.

That being said, I still find the iPhone much easier to use and navigate.  Finding and changing settings seems more intuitive and overall reliability, in our experience, is better with my iPhone vs. DH's Galaxy and previous android phones that we've both had.  Given that the iPhone 5 has a larger screen and 4G, that would be my pick over the Galaxy, if price were about the same.

edited: I mean the iPhone 5 has a larger screen than the version I have.  The Galaxy's screen is still bigger than iPhone 5 but not by much.

  • Absolutly love my Samsung Galaxy III. I upgraded from a Droid (yes the original), so it was a big change. I spent probably about a month researching iPhone versus Samsung Galaxy III. There was just more compatiable features with the Samsung Galaxy III and I wanted to be able to port music on various components. If you are looking at the Samsung Galaxy III, you'll want to wait until Novemebr when an updated processor is coming out. It's already fast, but the new one will be most recent.
