My husband and I are going to start planning our honeymoon for next spring. We are looking for suggestions regarding AI resorts during May/June 2013. I've been to a few AI resorts in Cabo/Los Cabos, we are looking at either Mexico or Carribean AI vacations.
Thanks!
Re: Rec for AI resorts
We went to Sandals Royal Bahamian for our HM and loved it. It was really expensive though. We got a high level room with a wonderful view and butler service. I have heard complaints you can't get into all of the restaurants if you don't pay for a butler room. Something to keep in mind if that is important to you.
This past summer we went to Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso in Playa Paraiso near Riveria Maya. It is an adults only resort. We really enjoyed it. The beach wasn't the best. It had a lot of seaweed and rocks but you can walk down the beach to the next Iberostar hotel and swim there. The seaweed could have been due to the tropical storm that was hitting that week. If you stay there, you have access to the four or five other resorts in the complex (that are not adults only.) However, those resorts do not have access to your resort.
Good luck and have fun planning! Also, I would check tripadvisor for reviews before you book!
We stayed at Sandals Whitehouse in Jamica for our honeymoon and loved every minute of it! They really know how to make couples feel special and they understand that you're on your honeymoon!! I would go back there in a heartbeat!
We've also stayed at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro in Dominican Republic. Also a really nice place that Adults Only.
If I had to choose between the 2, I would choose Sandals.
