Happy Halloween!

Well sort of... with trick or treat on Saturday it feels weird. But in any case... post pictures or tell us what your little gobblins are going to be dressed as this year.  Or if you dressed up, what was your costume?

I will share a photo later, but Eleni decided she wanted to be doc mcstuffins this year.

  • I love that show! I can't wait to see pics of EJ! (Did you ever find royal blue jeans for Mom?!)

No pics of the boys yet, but Gavin is a Transformers BumbleBee and Conall is going to be Thor (quite appropriate for his personality). Both are costumes I bought last November and (thankfully) Gavin was thrilled with it when I told him a couple of weeks ago. :)

    My three sons!

  • My pic is on my phone right now, but DD is going as Minnie Mouse....kind of. We had a bee costume for her and she lost her mind any time we tried to put it on her. So we bought pants and a long sleeve t with a big Minnie Mouse on it for her to wear with mouse ears and I made her a pink tutu to make it more costume-y. So far she's liked the costume except for the ears :)
  • See siggy pic :)  I have a puppy dog an Iron Man.  No ToT for us tonight, but the school has their Halloween parade and party today, so the kids will get to put their costumes on pretty soon.

maybe the dogs would like to be the bee?  Mo wore EJ's lady bug costume briefly one day.  Wink  That age is so unpredictable with costumes. Either they won't wear it, or they won't take it off!

Ooooh - I may have to torture them with that ;) And you're so right about how unpredictible they are, she wanted no parts of ANY costume at home. But daycare managed to get her into the Minnie outfit and she freaked when we took it off. Saturday should be interesting!

  • No pics yet.  The kids have their halloween party at school today, but are changing into their costumes there.  DD is Little Red Riding Hood, and DS is the Big Bad Wolf.

When we to TOTin on Saturday, DH is going to dress up as the lumberjack and I will be the grandmother (who else)!

  • I can't figure out how to post a picture! Ugh the nest is such a pain.

we have ToT tonight. Hopefully it isn't raining but it will be chilly. Dd has parade and party at daycare today. Since this is her last year at daycare I took a half day and am going to go.

  • Logan is going as Tigger and we are actually trick or treating tonight in my sister's neighborhood (Hampton). Apparently they're one of the few communities that kept trick or treat tonight. We were going to take him out in our neighborhood again on Saturday, but neither of us need that much candy in our lives. :)

  • No pics yet, but Mason is obsessed with Jake and the Never Land Pirates, so he is Jake and Garrett is Cubby (there were no Cubby costumes, so I put one together for him - which involved sewing on buttons and a patch by hand - very advanced for someone like me!).

I am also dressing up like Izzy and DH is Captain Hook....and my dad or brother will be dressing up as Mr. Smee.  We also have a lizard costume for Timmy that could pass as Tic Toc Croc, so I'm debating if I should throw together a Skully costume for Lucy.

Gwen - Mason was a monkey when he was Claire's age and he freaked about his costume too.  What worked for him was getting him dressed in front of the mirror and making a big deal about him looking like a monkey.  He was obsessed with the costume after that.

  • OMG, Meghan.  The idea of Timmy as Tic Toc Croc is cracking me up!

Originally, Jake wanted to be Jake as well and I was going to have Liam be Cubby...now that I see there are no actual Cubby costumes and my creativity/sewing skills are nonexistent, maybe it's better that he changed his mind to Iron Man!

  • Jude is Batman, many thanks to Emmy for loaning me Jake's costume!  We took him to a Halloween party on Saturday (adult party, we are such great parents) and there was a Joker and Catwoman there.  They were great sports about playing up their characters and taking pictures with him.  He was over the moon!

  • We went to a friend's Halloween party on Saturday, see my signature pic. Gabe was the Chest Burster from Alien, Casey was the victim Cain, and I was Ripley.

Here's is Gabe's "real" costume! He's a dragon. I can't wait to see everyone's  kiddos dressed up. Happy Halloween!

ETA: Sorry the picture is huge!

  • Lanna is a penguin and Wes will be a Wiggle on Saturday for ToT. I will try to post pics later of Lanna (Wes doesn't go to school, so he's not dressed up today).
  • Our oldest is being a witch and our youngest is being a pumpkin.  I feel bad for my 3 year old who is being the witch.  Everybody is making so much fuss over our 2 year old in the pumpkin costume (she does looks beyond cute).  It's just hard to compete with the the baby of family.

When Adam was 2 he wanted to be a robot. i couldnt find one so I made it. he WOULD NOT PUT IT ON. it was all I could do to get him to try it for fitting and he would fight and cry and try to take it off.  I was so worried that he wouldnt put it on after all my hard work.  BUT when Halloween came and it was time to get ready to go trick or treating he couldnt get it on fast enough! He didnt even want to wait til after dinner.  Kids are strange!! lol. Good luck!

  • Heather is a black cat and Todd is Spiderman. We haven't gotten a good full-length picture of both of them yet. At the neighborhood costume parade on Sunday, Todd was camera-shy during the parade part. :-)

  • Both of my kids are extremely picky about clothes, so I try to piece together non-itchy costume items with regular clothes. It doesn't result in the best costumes, but lack of drama counts for something!
  • Lisa, great job on the costume! I can't believe he didn't take any pictures at the party though!

All the kids look so cute!! thanks for sharing

  • So cute everyone! Amanda, I saw the edit with her Doc McStuffins costume! Too cute!  DD just started watching that show and would love that!

Here's dd as Merida from Brave. We had ToTing tonight and the weather held out! It was chilly but not terrible (DD didn't even want to wear her coat most of the time), and no rain except for a little sprinkles here and there.  Yay! dd had a blast and was sad when I washed the red out of her hair and told me she was sad she couldn't be Merida anymore.
