Restaurant Rec in Vegas for Anniversary Dinner

Looking for a restaurant recommendation for Vegas.  We'll be there for our 8th anniversary so i would like to eat somewhere nice.  Cost is not an issue.  I wouldn't mind a steakhouse but open to other cuisine too.

TIA

Re: Restaurant Rec in Vegas for Anniversary Dinner

  • SW Steak and N9NE are great.  STK was good too.  I would love to try Gordon Ramsey's new place at Paris, but haven't been there yet.  Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill is also very good, but not your traditional steakhouse.  it's my favorite place to eat in Vegas.  Have fun!

  • We were just out there for anniversary and 2 of our favorite restaurants were:  Top of the world in the stratosphere.  amazing food!  plus you get a 360 degree view of las vegas and a free trip to the top of the stratosphere.  Your dining area is rotating, which you dont feel at all and it's the most amazing views of the city!  The food is delicious and there is a usually a restaurant.com gift card so you can save a bit of money!

Tom Colliccio's place in MGM, Craftsteak, was by far the best steakhouse we ate at!  The shortribs are to die for!  DH LOVED his steak.  The portions are quite large so share a side!  Definitely recommend the potatoe puree.

Other restaurants we went to:  Delmonicos, which is one of Emeril's places out there...good, but no where near as good as craftsteak!  DO NOT GO TO LAVO!  Not worth the money for italian food you can get at olive garden!  The Eiffel Tower restaurant was good as well!  And Mon Ami Gabi if you need breakfast had the best on the strip!  If you're in the mood for good authentic Chinese, Noodles in Bellagio was good!  We stayed at the cosmo and ate at Henrys which had a good pot pie, and the overlook grill which was good for lunch!

Hope that helps!  If you need any other recommendations we did a lot of research when we were picking which places to eat at!

  • MIX, at Mandalay; American/French, Great food, eclectic menu, beautiful decor.  After hours, they are a very trendy club (also open for pre-dinner cocktails) which offers a terrific view of the strip.  Reservations (if you can get them) are a must.

SAGE, at Aria; Very sophisticated, yet trendy- masters' paintings, very high ceiling with up lighting, impecable service. OMG, the food.....! I can't even begin to describe it!

I HAVE to agree with PP, though, Top of The World is a special place with excellent food/service!  The views from the 360 degree rotating dining room, at the 107th floor, is amazing!  The floor rotates once every hour-1/2 so you don't even realize it.  Nothing like looking out and seeing people hanging over the edge from a ride from the rooptop amusement park.

  • I like sitting outside at Mon ami Gambi as it is across the street from the Bellagio fountains.

  • Another vote for SW Steak.
  • We had a great meal at StripSteak at Mandalay Bay. Personally I found SW Steak to be just OK, but I don't eat meat so my opinion is based on the non-meat items I tried.
