checking in from sandy!

hi everyone

i just wanted to see how everyone was doing in the wake of Sandy!! I just got back into work today, we were closed yesterday and my customers and clients are all closed today (many based in NY/NJ)

In RI we didn't get hit up by where I live too bad, just a down tree and a little flooding, all the leaes are now gone from the trees so a sad end to the foliage. All the stores and supermarkets etc were closed yesterday so I worked at home.

But I am sad to find out that the restaurant that we had our rehearsal dinner at is completely destoyed. All the windows burst out and it flooded, a lot of the furntiure is now out at sea.

A friend of a friend lost a home that was carried off to sea. But overall, everyone else is safe and sound.

Good thoughts and vibes toany girls in NY/NJ and CT area. The flooding is horrific and seeing that there are feet of water in the subways was incredible!!

Re: checking in from sandy!

  • We fared pretty well, no loss of power or internet or water. Having recently moved, we had no idea how our new neighborhood would be. But thankfully, there was nothing too bad around here- lots of trees down but no flooding and all my friends and family are still sitting strong. My H just ventured out to work for the first time today (the bus driver was quoting 3 hours to get into the city; he then needs to take another bus to the upper east side.) And I'm still off because Board of Ed has closed schools. My school was in a flood zone, though, so we'll see if we can even open when Board of Ed says we can...

  • Glad to hear everyone is alright and T&P go out to those who lost their homes and businesses. We dont live right where the storm hit but we were supposed to get a bit of it. Thankfully the news was pretty much wrong and we only got a little rain and winds. No power outtages either.
