With rushing to do Halloween stuff before the storm and the storm. I've written off Halloween and mentally moved on to turkey day and Christmas.
But I know I still need to go buy Halloween candy today.
Re: Halloween Confession
This is my halloween confession: My kids went trick or treating for a little on Sunday in my mom's neighborhood, came home with two big bags full of candy. I let them go through and pick what they like which isn't much since they don't like chocolate (weirdos!) and I fully intend on handing the rest of the candy out tonight. Someone called me cheap, I say it's resourceful.
I also hope the rain holds off so they can go out a little tonight and get it over with, no one in my house is really into Halloween, I am ready to move on to Christmas

KellDell.....smart move in my opinion!
I despise Halloween. I think it is dumb. If we didn't like our neighbors with children, we would probably turn off the lights and be those people. However, we will do the duty of handing out candy with a smile. Yes, we will be horrible parents one day because we both despise Halloween
And, I am so ready for Christmas. On Monday, I was thinking "I wish I had more shopping done, because I would start wrapping." And, I contemplated writing my cards. And, if it wasn't October I would have decorated to get it out of the way. However, I am an organized weirdo
Bring on the turkey and bust out the carols.
I'm debating whether to buy candy tonight. We were originally supposed to go over to a friend's house so I didn't buy candy. Friend's power is out so we will be staying home. Otis goes beserk any time anyone knocks on the door but it's cold and I don't really want to leave him outside for a couple hours. I'm tempted to just turn all the lights off.
Also, the Abington Twp side of Glenside postponed ToT until this weekend but no word from the Cheltenham Twp side (we live in Chelthenham Twp). I don't want kids showing up all weekend in addition to tonight.

Say what?? So there is no ToT tonight?
My little nuggets
DD is 11 1/2 month old. I kept "forgetting" to pull out all the halloween decorations this year and then last week I decided I didn't care anymore and left them packed up. I'm sure she won't notice. I think our town is still doing TorT tonight, but I have no idea (we are in Valley Township). I just found out my MIL is on her way to our house to escape the wreckage of her Jersey shore hometown
So she is going to go with me to DD's daycare parade at 3:30. I think I will take DD to a few of our neighbors tonightto show off the awesome bunny costume my mom made her, then Saturday I will take her back to NJ for my parent's rescheduled trick or treating and show her off to some old neighbors there. I figure she won't remember this year or eat any candy, so I should be good
Yes, according to the Abington Twp website, they postponed it until Saturday due to storm damage, street lights out, etc.

Postponing would bother me worst as I just want it to be over.
I can't wait to buy a tree!
I took all of the outside decorations down on Sunday and asked DH to at least put the pumpkins and mums back on the step. I will guarantee they are still in the basement when I get home.
I also bought gross Halloween candy to prevent us from eating it. DH mentioned something about Halloween in the city being postponed. I told him even if they do, you can bet we will have trick or treaters both days looking for candy.
I am with letranger- I just want it over with. I'm not a Halloween person, but DH is...but this year with the storm, we had to take down a bunch of decorations and haven't put them back up...plus, I never got the dogs' costumes I wanted together (yes, I am nuts and dress the dogs to coordinate with the kids). I also cheaped out and put DD in a borrowed Tinkerbell costume- the dress with wings- and just have her wearing it over sweatpants and a long sleeved t-shirt- I never got her wings or anything. I feel like a terrible mother, but she seems happy so that's good. Plus, she's starting to get sick so we will probably hit like 3 houses that we know and call it a night.
I asked DH if I could decorate for Christmas tomorrow. He rolled his eyes. I'm ready for Christmas.
All you Halloween scrooges!! Lol.
I love Halloween. I love dressing up, I love jack o'lanterns. I love it all. I don't dress up for the kids, but I will be on my porch bundled up with candy. I don't love the hoodlums that come to my house but I take it rerrrrl seriously. In fact, I didn't realize they are now packaging mini's and passing them off as Halloween candy. It's TERRIBLE! I refused to buy nothing but the regular 'fun size' bars. I used to get pissed at the houses who used to throw a tootsie roll in the bag. Sure, kids don't need that much candy. But it's a part of the tradition and I love it.
We're having our annual halloween party on Friday and another part of my costume came in the mail today and I'm weeing myself.
Tonight Fiona (my chi) is Sandy from Grease. It's actually a coincidence that she's the hurricane considering she kind of is one.
And she does have a 2nd costume for the party that coordinates with mine... I will post pics I'm sure next week ;-)
We must have gotten to your house too late because you were not out and we were very sad to have missed Fiona! (and you of course)
