Hi all! I haven't been around much due to work and now having my baby. I know I'm friends with some of you on facebook so you already know she had arrived but thought I would update for the rest of you in case anyone is interested
Elsey Mae was born Saturday, the 20th early in the morning. I was having headaches with blurred vision for a few days and the dr told me to go to labor and delivery Friday afternoon since the headaches kept happening. My boss drove me down to the hospital and my blood pressure and everything was good. My husband was on his way to come pick me up when the babies heart rate decelerated. They said they would have to monitor me for a few more hours. The heart rate dropped again an hour later so they said they wouldn't feel comfortable sending me home. I was about 38.5 weeks along, so they wanted to induce. We went ahead with it. I started the pitocin at 5:30, got my epidural and they broke my water around 12:30. I was ready to push around 3:00am and she was born at 3:30. WAY different than my 30 hour labor and 7 hours of pushing with Keefer. Here are a couple pictures of my baby girl. Keefer is a great big brother but has been pretty difficult too. He actually has taken more of my time and patience than the baby! I guess that's what everyone says about 3 years old being even worse than 2! I suppose adding a baby to be jealous of to the mix doesn't help...
Re: Hello
Congrats again, Abby! How are you feeling?
Don't worry about Keefer; he'll settle in to the new schedule and family. When you're feeling better, plan to take him for breakfast or something, one-one-one. And, if he's a "helper" maybe engaging him in helping you with the baby will do good as well.
As always, you know where I live and I think you have my number; let me know if I can come over and help! I'll reach out to you in another week or so to see if you're up for company, too, ok?!
My three sons!
Jake - 1.15.08
Liam - 5.17.11
Congrats!!
