I have 3 BFFs and because of our busy lives, we barely get to see each other. We might see each other 2 twice a month, and we live within 10-15 mins of each other. We do text and chat on fb almost daily. We made plans to hang out at my house a few weeks ago, but one was sick and another's babysitter fell through. I understand, things happen.
Then one of my friends said that since she and the other two friends have no money we should hang out at the bar, get a few drinks (which has a game room in the back) and play air hockey. I suggest we just hang out at my house, have some drinks, and play air hockey in my basement. They were all in because it was less expensive than going out. It was a plan.
Then yesterday one of my friends texted me saying that she and the others wanted to go out tonight... I am typically exhausted come Friday night (which is why I wanted to hang in) and said that they should go and we could do something another time... to which she said okay!
I am bummed because I really wanted to hang out with my friends, we hardly see each other and we had plans to hang out, then they changed their minds as to what they wanted to do and when I didn't want to change, they went without me
I am feeling kind of snarky and want to send one of them a text saying, hope you're having fun, wish we could have hung out tonight
Oh well, at least I have H
Re: Annoyed
I would be frustrated about that too, but unfortunately there isn't much you can do.
Like you said, at least you have your H. Enjoy your night in, and in a few days the whole situation won't seem like such a big deal.
Maintaining friendships gets harder as everyone gets busier.... Hopefully next time they'll want a night in or maybe you'll feel like going out
I'm sorry girls can be a pain sometimes. I had a similar situation happen a few weeks ago. My bff doesn't live here and pretty much everytime I see her it's a double date which is fine. So we made plans to have dinner and go do something well then neithe of us wanted to go out afterwards so as I suggest coming back to my house she says they are too tired and just want to do dinner. I haven't seen her since my wedding day and this was in Oct I was so hurt.
You'll get over it eventually it will just take a while. I'm used to being disappointed by my friends.
