Has anyone been to Secrets Maroma beach Riviera Cancun?

We are booked here for our 7 night honeymoon iin July and are in a preferred club swim out room. Still deciding on that or a preferred club ocean front room.

Super excited and know we will have a great time no matter what but would like any help on the rooms if you have info.

Jennifer

Re: Has anyone been to Secrets Maroma beach Riviera Cancun?

  • I was there in July 2010. I did not stay in a swim out room, so can't comment specifically on those, but I did notice that there were very few people using the pools in front of their rooms. My personal preference would be to have an oceanfront room. However, definitely double check that you won't be charged any change fees to make that change. From personal experience, I have made changes to packages that added cost and the agent did not charge fees, but that may not be the case in every situation. So, it might not be worth it to switch if you'll have to pay fees. Hope that helps!

  • We did the swim out room at Secrets in Dominican, and absolutely loved it! Especially for the honeymoon! If you wanted to be more "alone" you could just go to the portion in front of your room and not be bothered. The bartenders also walked that stretch, and would bring you drinks, which was huge plus for us. We honestly could not find a single negative to the swim out room.

  • BEST VACATION EVER.  Seriously awesome resort.  Great beach, water sports, adults-only, good food, great room.  We loved it.
  • We went in August for our honeymoon and LOVED it! We had a blast. We had a swim out room adn to me it was worth it, especially over the PC ocean view. the pool closes at 6 pm and they put in chemicals, so you ar eusually going back to your room. Since we didn't want to do dinner so early, we tended to come back and order room service appetizers then hop in the pool for a swim and wait for them. Then we'd have apps while we got dressed and ready for idnner and head to dinner around 7:30 or 8:00 which was perfect timing to catch  a bit of the shows that start at 9:00. We also liked having the pool for a late night dip and on our last day when we only had a few hours left, we could lay out and swim without walking to the pool or losing track of time! (Which happens a lot while you are there---enjoy!!)

  • Awwwwww, thank you and this sounds wonderful. Only 215 days until we are there:-)
