Pet owners - Frontline - where do you buy it?

It costs about $80 for a 3 month supply of Frontline from our vets office (we have 2 cats).  I'm hoping to find somewhere less expensive to buy it from.  I'm hesitant to order from one of those online/tv commercials b/c I think I read that the ones they sell can be expired.

I know that there are knowledgeable pet owners on here so I thought I'd see if you have any suggestions before heading over to the Pets board.  Thanks!

Re: Pet owners - Frontline - where do you buy it?

  • I usually buy off of Amazon.com and I've never had a problem.  I'm buying for three cats and two dogs, so it's a major expense for me.  Amazon is always the cheapest although it's not necessarily always coming from the US (it came from Australia once), which sometimes makes me think I shouldn't order from there. I think dog.com is the next cheapest I've found it for, and I'm pretty sure they always send it from the US.
  • I've taken note on this from posts on pets especially.  Most don't recommend buying from most internet sites from the medications aren't always from the US or under US standards.  It's more risky and a lot of them don't want to take the chance.  But I have heard several use this site.  I've heard good reviews from this site as well, but someone else correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

Many also prefer to get it from a vet so they ask their vet about price matching.  It's worth a shot, but not all vets will do it.  You could give them the price from a few sites and see what they say.

  • I just get it from the vet. We get a free dose for every six we buy, so that adds up and I think it is then $75 for 7 doses.

  • I use PetCareRx.  I have never had a problem using their website.  However, the cost isn't much cheaper, it's just more convienent for me.

  • I used Amazon last time and it was great.  I got a 3 month supply for the 44-88lb size and it was about $35 and shipping was FREE!  I called Petco and they wanted at least $60 for the same thing.
  • I always get coupons in the clipper for PetCareRx I think my mom uses that for their dog (we don't have one yet). If you want the code I can let you know what it is. Just send me a msg on facebook or email me sweetdreams2500@yahoo.com
  • I get Frontline Plus for our terrier and beagle in the 6pk for $76 at That Fish Place. i believe petco is similar in price. not sure about Petsmart.

  • I get it from http://www.petfooddirect.com.  I also buy my dog food there though, so it is convenient for me.  Even with shipping charges, I save a bunch of money over buying from my vet!
