any idea how much this will cost?
Ugh, I was terribly exhausted today and completely ditzy all day (and yesterday too, honestly). Yesterday, I drove to my sister's (30 minutes away) to pick up wedding gifts she'd been storing at her house and then I left my purse there, so had to drive back to get it.
This morning, I completely lost my keys (this is something that happens to me every 5 years or so, if that). I looked everywhere, and couldn't find them, and I had to meet the guy refinishing the floors at 8 AM. Luckily, DH hadn't left, so I had to use his keys (thank goodness he has a key to my car on his ring). I ended up finding them when I got home in our silverware drawer???
The icing on the cake is, I hit my neighbor's car when I got home today. There were no other cars around and it wasn't a tight spot. I just didn't turn enough coming into the spot. I left a note for her to call me. It looks like there is about a six inch scratch on the door and the little panel at the bottom of the door is scratched pretty heavily. I don't think it is dented at all. She has a dark green car, so it is noticable, I'm pretty sure she'll want to fix it. Any ideas on how much this will cost? My husband doesn't want to put it into the insurance.
On a side note, I called DH expecting him to be really mad about the car (we have so many expenses right now it is crazy) but he wasn't at all. Just said mistakes happen. It made me love him a little more.

Is there any way your neighbor would be willing to get a quote before you/she has to call the insurance company? I'm guessing it would be less expensive to have it fixed by a mechanic (they could possibly just buff it out) than paying your deductable to the insurance company and having this on your driving record.

If it's not dented, I would guess maybe a couple hundred bucks?
I had a lady back out of an alley and hit my bumper, pull forward, and then back into me again while I was stopped at a stop sign. lol It definitely dented my bumper, I got 3 estimates and I think it was around $300 to fix. This was about 3 years ago, and I was driving a '97 Nissan Sentra (if that helps at all). Hopefully I'm remembering the details correctly.

Onto the actual problem at hand... hopefully she calls and you can talk to her about going for a quote before going to insurance and try and work it out that way. Let her know you're willing to pay, but don't want to go through insurance to do so! Hopefully she can be reasonable about it! Good luck!
