I called my parents' house today to talk to my dad, but he was out golfing. My mom, however, was able to answer my call on her cell phone because calls to their house go to her cell if they're not answered in a certain number of rings. High tech, right? Anywho, she was working the election and since I had her on the phone I asked if she was giving out stickers at her location. She said they didn't have any either. But then a few hours later she called me to say that party representatives were handing them out outside and she grabbed a bunch for me. I think she thought I wanted them for my class. I decided to wait until H came home to go get them in case he wanted to go get a free cupcake, too. Well he said he had to study and didn't have time to go get a cupcake (crazy, right?) so off I went.
When I got to the cupcake place, there was a super long line. Before it was my turn they ran out of the free cupcakes. Apparently they were only giving voters plain vanilla or plain chocolate. I was told that more would be out soon. So I waited, getting a little anxious because I had to park in one of the downtown Newark lots. I had initially thought I would be in and out, thus allowing me to avoid actually having to pay to park. After a few minutes the owner (I think) decided to just let anyone waiting for a free cupcake to get whatever they wanted! AND I got parking validation!
So in summation, had I gotten a sticker when I actually voted and gone immediately after to get my cupcake, I would have missed out on the fabulous pumpkin spice with cream cheese goodness that I just inhaled.
Re: Serendipitous
I feel so relieved!
