Glenside Restaurant Recs

Hey guys!

We are going to a concert tomorrow night at The Keswick and wanted to grab a bite and some drinks before the show.

We were thinking the Keswick Tavern but wanted to know if there was anything else around there worth checking out, preferably a good beer selection or BYO.

 TIA

Re: Glenside Restaurant Recs

  • Plush is fun for drinks.  Not sure about their food.
  • If you want good beer, go to G&G Brewers a few doors down from KT.  It's a small place and they claim they are the smallest brewpub in the US and they usually have 5-6 in house brews on tap.  Standard bar food (great grilled veggie wrap).

  • I'm going to respectfully disagree about G&G as I've never found their beer to be worth bragging about. HOWEVER, there is no good place in Glenside to eat or drink unfortunately.

If you wanted to eat at Keswick you better go early bc that places gets insanly crowded before a show.

    Who is playing there?

    My little nuggets

  • It's not in Keswick village but I have been to the Blue Comet and enjoyed it...

I think it depends what they have on tap.  http://www.ggbrewers.com/  Not sure if the tap list is updated.

Agree, KT gets crowded very fast.

Trevi has really good Italian food and it's a BYO, but it's about 1/2 mile from the theatre.

And word, we need a better selection of restaurants in the area.

  • What about Athena?

  • Athena is good only if you can sit outside.  The inside is kind of dark and musty.

  • Thanks for the recs guys!

We are gonna try to go early so we will check out the your suggestions but we might definitely have to check out the microbrew before or after the show, I love trying to new beer!

We are going to see Ben Gibbard (the lead singer for Death Cab for Cutie)-it should be awesome!
