So the baby question earlier got me thinking and this has been a subject with H and I lately so I thought I would see your opinion.
Once you find out you're pregnant and you tell your H how long will you wait to tell anyone else? Or how far along do you want to be before you tell people other than your H.
Re: How Long to Wait?
I'm so torn on this one. I think I would like to wait until 8-10 weeks... but I think I will be too excited not to tell my close family around 6 weeks.
I'm hesitant about it because both SIL's had miscarriages this year, and it was just so heartbreaking. One told everyone early, and the other didn't; just informed us that she miscarried... so I'm very nervous about that happening!
We told our parents and our siblings at 7 weeks. We went on our honeymoon when I was about 7 weeks and weren't able to do a lot of the activities that we had planned because I was pregnant so it was just easier to tell the truth about the reason why than to make something up.
We didn't tell anyone else until 12 weeks. Even then, I only told if people asked.
I'll be calling my mom as soon as the pee stick dries! lol
DH will tell his parents after my parents, then everyone else we'll wait until after the first doctor's appointment.

I'd tell my parents probably right away. I know that they'd keep it to themselves until we were ready to share the news with the world. I have a really hard time keeping anything from my parents (good or bad) so if I called my parents and was all excited, they'd somehow figure out why same if I was upset about something. I'd also like to have someone besides H to talk to if something did go wrong.
But I wouldn't tell the ILs, they all have huge mouths and I know that word would spread so fast. I'd wait the 12 weeks to tell any of them.
H told me to talk to my Mom when I was thinking about going off the pill. He wanted me to talk to a woman who has been through baby stuff, who wouldn't be someone that would tell anyone about our conversation, so I think H would want me to tell my Mom, and would also understand that I'd like to wait to tell his family.

I'm hoping to wait that 8-12 weeks to tell anyone, we'll have to see how that goes.. but that is the plan....
My only "issue" is my SIL is a chiropractor and if I get her to do any work on me i'll have to tell her, so i'm going to have to invoke the doctor/patient confidentiality clause with her... she'll be thrilled for us... but there's pretty much no way I can't tell her...
I think I'd be too excited to wait and tell our parents, so probably as soon as the Dr. confirms we're pregnant. We'll probably be providing the first (if not only) grandkids and telling them we're pregnant is something I'm really excited to do!
I'd probably tell my boss at 8 weeks since I'm a department of one and we'd have to figure out what to do during maternatity leave, etc. As far as everyone else, probably around the 10-12 week mark.
I would want to tell my mom RIGHT AWAY! Same with H. We are both super close with our mothers.
I would wait as long as possible to tell anyone at work. (I hope) I guess I would have to tell our office manager to explain appointments and the like and she has never been able to keep those things a secret. Drives the girls nuts.
