Gift to boyfriend on closing day?
Hello! First post on this so I'm a little new...
My boyfriend and I are closing on our first house together (or at all!) on Friday. I would love to get some type of gift for him to signify such a big move for us. Any ideas??? I am completely drawing a blank! Thank you for any help!

How long have you been together?
Buying a house with a BOYFRIEND? Have planned for circumstances should this relationship end? Can you afford the house on your own?
As you can tell, this is not something I ever recommend.
The House is the gift - there will be many places to put your money. Is HE planning to get YOU a gift? If this is a mutual gift exchange - keep it small and inexpensive.
And this too. Is he planning on buying you an e-ring soon? You just entered into probably the largest financial transation of your life - with a BF. MMers on here don't even recommend having a joint checking account with a BF let alone buying a home.
A gift card to Home Depot? There will be appliances and/or furniture to buy, tools, supplies for home improvement projects... If you want to get him something, I would get him something that he or both of you need as new homeowners.
We are shopping for our first home right now, and even though DH has lots of tools, there are a few things that are home specific we don't have, like a tall ladder and lawn care equipment.
When my boyfriend (now fiance, but that had nothing to do with the house purchase) and I bought our house, we didn't exchange gifts. We had plenty of other things to spend money (from our joint checking account that we use for household expenses) on.
If you really want to get something though, get something for the house that will also be like a memento of this exciting time.
I am not a fan of buying a house with a boyfriend but thought I would post to an awesome gift i read of.
Buy a box of cigars and label them with first events. Typically given as wedding gift to DH but didn't see it until it was after the wedding.
