Xmas grab bag gift

Oh, since I'm here. I might as well ask this too. Every year for xmas, we have a big dinner with friends and we do a grab bag. This year we decided that the guidelines will be one $25 gift per couple to exchange. So we don't know who is going to get the gift and it. The problem is, the couples vary in age and interests (think your age and your parents age). Any suggestions on a $25 couples gift? It can be anything from something funny/totally ridiculous to something nice. We're a pretty open group, but I'm getting stuck on ideas.

Re: Xmas grab bag gift

  • i just bought this yesterday for my IL's family grab bag.  it is hard to think of unisex gifts under $25 after 8 years!!!  could definitely be used as a "couples" gift:

other old standbys:  lottery scratch offs, wine, electronic wine opener, case of decent beer, gift card to amazon, target, etc.

  • Wine or anything alcohol related - funky drinking glasses, etc.

    Board Games

Movie related - tickets to a movie theater, DVD's, popcorn, etc.

  • I was trying to stay away from the wine/alcohol stuff for the simple reason that everyone who will be there are big drinking. Not alcoholic drinkers, just that they have a nice palate for wines/expensive beers and such. And they pretty much have all the fancy gadgets and glasses that go with it. That being said, my go-to back-up plan was wine/food related. LOL!
