It's Friday!
Since we have been in our place for a few years now (and just renewed our lease) we got a fresh coat of paint in a couple of heavily trafficked areas. It looks good. Today we get a pro carpet cleaning (not the maitnence guys this time).
Tomorrow we have nothing planned. Lazy day! And Sunday we are going to the renaissance festival with my Aunt and Uncle for free! They got free tickets and have never been so were going with them. H is calling it a test run because we're going again Thanksgiving weekend with friends. Plus I'm under the weather and going to the doctor today. Crossing my fingers I'm ok Sunday.
Re: TGIF Ya'll
I'm at work. Pastor's wife has requested CDs from the past few weeks her kids have been singing and leading. So I get to sit here all day and try to make them sound good. It's a big project.
I have to try to get everything done at work and hopefully not work too late. Tonight we're going to bed early to start getting our bodies on Europe time.
Tomorrow we're packing and running errands, etc to get ready.
Sunday we're off to a friend's wedding ceremony and immediately afterward to to the airport for our vacation!
lol I had the same thought!
I have Monday off for Remembrance Day (Canada's version of Veteran's Day), and I'm very much looking forward to the long weekend. It's been a hell of a week and a half, so this is a much needed break. No major plans at this time and we're due for a snowstorm on Saturday, so I doubt I'll get up to much. Thankfully our winter tires are being put on today!
Since I may be stuck at home for most of the weekend, I'd like to get some stuff done around the house that have been on the to do list since we bought it! And I have some freelance work to do. Doesn't sound like much fun, but just being in my sweats makes me happy!
I can't even begin to say how happy I am that this week is over. We started using a new charting system in the hospital I work at. It's a complete disaster. We had basically 4 hours of training on a practice system that looks nothing like what we're using now. Preference cards for our surgeons are almost all wrong, so this week has been more of a headache than we bargained for. I've gone thru 4 bottles of wine this week from all the stress. Slowly it's starting to get better, but I'm not sure how much more my liver can take.
I am looking forward to a weekend of nothing planned.
Yesterday my roommate from college asked if she could spend the weekend with us. So I spent all last night cleaning the house since she's coming tonight. It's totally her to make plans like that last minute, ha. We are complete opposites - but we were the best roommates! So my weekend of having the house to myself (since DH works tomorrow) and being lazy have changed! Not sure what we will be doing now.. but it should be fun!

we drove up to Eugene to see the Dropkick Murphys last night. We had a good time. They had two openers, The Mahones and Teenage Bottlerockets.
The Mahones were good, but the Teenage Bottlerockets. Well, they were very talented with their instruments, the music was fine, but their singing....I kept asking if it was 2012 and that we hadn't warped back to 1983. Their sound would have fit in better then.
Dropkick Murphys were of course, brilliant. I did start getting homesick though, when they played State of Massachusetts and when Ken Casey started talking in his THICK Boston accent.
Eventually we'll move back east, just no idea when.
Last night I didn't do too much. I was pretty lazy. Today I packed some more boxes. My sister and mom came down and we went and looked at cars for my sister. Tomorrow I'll probably clean the house some and pack some more boxes. In one week we'll be moving! We drove by the house today, and it appears that all the repairs we requested are finished. Just waiting on that final say from the seller so we can go inspect the house again. Can't wait!
