Traveling with infant - formula
It's been a while since I've flown with an infant and I think I was ebf with the first two. Anyway, will they let me carry on formula? I don't plan to check a bag and was hoping to pack some formula on my carry on.

so bring some. how long is the flight? im mean will you really need all that much?
It's an international flight with layovers so it is a while.
Plus I 'm not sure if they have premixed formula in the place where I'm going so I'm trying to bring enough for the few days i'm there as well.
dont they make a powdered formula mix that you can add liquid to? perhaps that would be a better bet that hauling a ton of liquids all over.
where are you headed?
very smart idea
i wouldn't count on it if it's a specific kind she likes. can you email the hotel and ask them to have some for you or if there's a store nearby that sells it?
I've only traveled with breastmilk, but they didn't open it, they swabbed the outside of the container. Pretty sure this is standard with any kind of infant milk/formula.
They always opened ours, however DS is 2 so things may have changed since he was an infant.
No, they didn't open anything. Just swabbed the outside with those test strip things. Nothing was wasted!
I doubt they will let you take "enough for a few days" on the plane with you. You may have to check the rest.
From the TSA website:
Please be advised that passengers going on long trips should only carry on the medically necessary liquids and gels needed for their infant/toddler?s immediate comfort during the flight. Please pack larger amounts of liquids for the remainder of the trip in a checked bag.
