It's finally here...Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon!

Well my 12 weeks of training are over and tomorrow is the big day! Time for my first half marathon..ahhh!!

H and I will head to Disney tomorrow morning after I eat a large breakfast. It will take about 2 hours to get to Disney and then I'll pick up my bib and other essentials and then spend the rest of the day relaxing..not walking around too much. The race starts at 10:00pm...I'm nervous how I'll do with this late start but I'm sure it will be okay...no harder than it would be if it was in the morning haha. After the race the Epcot Food & Wine Fest will be open for the runners and their guests to enjoy...I'll definitely  be eating a lot...I'll have earned it!

I feel prepared but I'm getting really nervous because I can't believe it's actually here! I've been dreaming about do this half marathon since last year..I'm so proud of myself for doing this! I'm going to do my best but remind myself not to stress too much about my "time" since it's my first one. I just need to enjoy the experience and allow myself to have fun and stop take pictures with characters. and stuff. Wish me luck!

  • Sounds like lots of fun...good luck and enjoy urself..I miss Disney :(
  • Good luck, enjoy, and be kind to yourself as you enjoy the experience :-)
  • You're going to love it!!  H and I did the first one, relay style, and it was amazing.  Have you ever run a Disney race before?

If not, I would definitely recommend taking pictures of everything, and just taking some time to soak it all in.  So special!

The 10 pm start is odd, and it did make for an awkward day... I wanted to do so much Disney, but was worried about tiring myself out!  In general, though, running through the parks at night was awesome.  In Animal Kingdom,  they were cooking up all sorts of yummy smelling foods :)  H's favorite was Hollywood Studios!

Good luck!  Can't wait to hear all about it!
