Upstairs neighbors... grrr.

The people that moved in above us a few weeks ago are so flipping loud. They moved in and we would hear them stomping around their apartment. It drove me crazy. H convinced me to wait it out a little thinking maybe it's just move-in noise. They still stomp around instead of walking like normal people plus they must be the clumsiest people ever because it sounds like they keep dropping ***. There's so much banging sometimes.

Today in the middle of the day there were two ridiculously loud bangs about a minute apart that shook our whole apartment. Once? Okay, your bad. Don't do it again. Twice? What the efff are you doing?!

Fast forward to about 9:15pm tonight and they are hammering something. WTF? It's after 9 on a Sunday night.

I finally emailed the leasing office. I don't know if they'll do *** about it, but it's worth a shot. I explained that I have lived in several lower floor apartments before and know we're going to hear some movement from people above us, but this is obnoxious noise!

Re: Upstairs neighbors... grrr.

  • Yeah, that seems like a bit much, hopefully they get it all sorted out! Just don't forget, they might now be open tomorrow due to the holiday Big Smile

  • If they don't do anything just keep emailing or tell them in person. That much noise, and the kind of noises are not average/ normal apartment dweller sounds. Hence why it's obnoxious noise. I hope they do something and stop it. Maybe call your apartments security if they start making noise late at night again.
  • That sucks! Hope they take care of it!

  • I got an email back this morning saying they talked to the people upstairs and it should stop the issue. Thank goodness. I do like the customer service of this apartment complex so I don't want to move, but I've been debating it since our building has gotten so noisy and our lease is up next month.

Hopefully this helps! Our downstairs neighbor isn't noisy but we can barely use our screened in balcony because they smoke all the time out on theirs. It's issues that are not real dealbreakers, but enough to bug the hell out of me :P

  • Would you be able to move to a different apartment within the complex? (Never lived in an apartment complex before, so I don't know if that happens or not).
