Hey Beasts!
In honor of our anniversary month, I give you...
H and I have a rain check to celebrate our anniversary (11/4). We were hit pretty hard by Hurricane Sandy. H was away on tour, and I got the word to evacuate our apartment on 10/28 (my birthday, LOL). I manage to move both of our cars, along with me and our cat, to my mom's house in western NJ. We were safe there from the storm, but my mom's power was knocked out and is still out (nearly 2 weeks later!!) Good thing I evacuated because we are a block from the bay, which flooded our street. Luckily our apartment is above street level (we got just a little water in our foyer) but we haven't had heat since it happened, since the furnace is in the basement apartment and got flooded. It's been a very trying two weeks since the storm hit on 10/30. We stayed at my mom's for a week (H got home a couple days after the storm hit) until it was safe to come back to our apartment. We spent our anniversary in line to fill up my gas tank, and even though my mom and aunt treated us to a night in a hotel, we were too exhausted to do more than just sleep.
It was memorable, that's for sure, not in a good way but I'm sure in years to come we'll look back and laugh. We were very lucky, all things considered, with this monster storm. And we're looking forward to picking another date to celebrate.

Glad to hear you are safe and seem to have minimal damage. But that's a crappy way to spend your birthday.. In line to get gas. Yuck.

Hubby and I were going to go out of town and spend a weekend where we went for our honeymoon but I'm now on bed rest and it looks like I won't be going anywhere until baby is here.
