Re: Meaningful Monday ~ 11/12/12

  • We had a fabulous overnight visit at a friend's house Saturday night out on Long Island. Ben got to sleep in his friend's room as his first sleepover, and they had a BLAST. None of the kids wanted to part, it was so adorable. and I got to hang out with a dear old friend, something we don't do nearly often enough.

I got the BEST bedtime snuggles last night from my daughter. She is fully into 2-year-old status, tantrums, attitude and all, so a nice snuggly night really warmed my heart.

So thankful for our veterans, yesterday, today and every day.

I'm glad I have work. It's not my fav job, and it isn't always enough money, but it's better than nothing, which is what so many people have right now.

  • I am proud of my husband this weekend, and really all the time, for the sacrafice he made by voluntering to go overseas to afghanistan. I made him a nice dinner last nigt, roast chicken, mashed potatos, the whole 9 yards. Plus, I am proud that he decided to go back to school. I know sometimes he feels silly that he is older than the other "college freshman" but still goes there everyday and is actually enjoying it a lot (probably more than an average freshman actually would). Plus, he has all A's and that's awesome!

  • So thankful for a day off with both of my kids today. We had music class, visited my sister for lunch, and are now home and prepping supper. Only one disagreement between them all day. That must be some sort of record.

I am grateful for my stepfather, father-in-law, uncles, cousins and friends who served our country over the years. Air Force, Army, Marines, National Guard... Some were drafted, others unlisted, but all gave their all while in the service.

I am so happy that my children know my grandparents. They don't know my husband's family at all, but at least my family is nearby and close.

  • I am grateful for our military families, both past and present.

I'm grateful that we made it through a lot of little projects this weekend. It feels good to make some progress.

I'm grateful for DS's great mood this weekend. There were fewer tantrums, better sleeping, and a much happier kid than he was last weekend. He's such a fun little boy to be around when he's in a good mood!
