in the midst of my life, it slipped my mind we are going on a cruise in 14 days. Honestly, I think I am having serious senior moments.
So cruise leaves from NYC and goes to Bahamas. More of a let's unplug from life than my usual "I need to do every.single.thing.I.can" type of vacation.
I've never been on a cruise with more than 2 sea days, this one has 4. What should I pack?
sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.
Re: wanna help me pack?
make sure you take books or an e-reader for the sea days! We also bought these for our next cruise http://www.amazon.com/Boca-Clips-2-pk-Whale-Beach/dp/B007V643XQ/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1352518008&sr=8-11&keywords=boca+clips which can be used to save your deck chair. I also recommend a nalgene bottle to fill with water from the buffet and keep near your deck chair.
As far as clothes, I change into jeans after dinner for the rest of the night, but wear black pants, skirts, or dresses to dinner. You can save room in your suitcase by pairing different tops with two or three pairs of black/grey pants and a skirt. For formal nights I take different dresses, but you can definitely wear the same one if you want. Also I take at least 2 or 3 bathing suits so I can always have a dry one. Have fun!
First have a GREAT trip!
We just left from Baltimore and obvy its going to be more chilly when you leave but by the 2nd sea day it should be a bit warmer. On our sea days where it was 'chilly' they had the heat going on the ship and it was mothereffing HOT and I'm always warm so I might not be reliable butttttt. The first night we got on ship I wore jeans and a 3/4 sleeve shirt. During the days I just wore yoga pants or a long maxi skirt and a t-shirt w/ a long sleeve cardi and the other sea nights I just wore capris on the chillier nights and I was fine bare legged on formal nights that were sea days.
Also not to scure you but when we left it was after Sandy and then when we came back it was after that nor'easter sooooo the seas were a bit rough and I was definitely a bit green. I'm blaming it on these storms because we left out of NY a few years ago in June and I never felt anything like I did last week soooo maybe just take something in case. It didn't bother Brent at all and funny enough he usually has the more sensitive stomach. I had sea sick pills but the only thing that made me feel better were those sea bands for your wrists!
