what shows do you watch?
DH and I finally got a DVR when we moved, meaning I can finally watch some good TV. We're not big TV watchers (I didn't even have cable when I was single) and since my classes have been at night this semester, I don't watch any shows regularly. Now, we have Direct TV and all these stations and the ability to record them, and I feel lost! So, tell me what you ladies watch, and what I should set my DVR to record. Also, should I "catch up " on past seasons with any of them? Thanks!

My weekly must watch shows are: Private Practice, Law & Order SVU (they have marathons ALL the time that I DVR and watch when I'm bored) and Grey's Anatomy. H loves the golf channel and anything that has to do with cars (i.e. building, racing etc.)
I love the DVR because there's usually something both of us want to watch on different channels and we can record one, and watch it later.

I'm really into all the popular shows lately, which are always on at the same time, so a DVR would work wonderfully although, I just have Hulu so that works for me anyway, except when I have nothing all week and then 5 new shows in my queue overnight).
My must-watch shows (not immediately, but eventually) are, in order of my favorites:

Burn Notice (I'm starting to just pretend to like this show for H now)
Only the ones with ! must be watched from the Pilot episode to present in order to make sense (Once Upon a Time is written by the writers of Lost, sooooo), so the others you can jump right into. But I won't watch a show unless I have the ability to watch every episode from the Pilot on, so I highly recommend watching them from the beginning anyway :-)

I don't have a DVR either and am also in night classes but do catch up using on demand when I have a little free time. My shows that I watch:

The Middle.
We also watch a lot of History, H2 and Home and Garden, I like house hunters international.
We too watch different shows at different times. These are some ones we like:

-Breaking Bad
-Walking Dead

-Game of Thrones
-South Park
-reruns of King of the Hill & Futurama, also a lot of shows on HGTV/DIY Network
We don't have cable so I use Hulu as my own personal DVR. I watch:
The New Normal, Parks & Rec, the Office, Daily Show, Go On, Don't Trust the B in Apt 3, Revolution, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Modern Family, Whitney & Up All Night.
I REALLY wish CBS was online because I miss HIMYM and Big Bang Theory!
