What are your thoughts? Are they a waste of money? Anyone who did them in retrospect think they could have gone without them or vice versa?
Re: Maternity Photos
can you go without them? of course but they are nice to have. Some I have seen are horrific and others are done just right, I think with maternity photos can walk the thin line between beautiful and creepy depending on the photographer. I had them done with T2, I had some framed and hung in the nursery for a while. Then when T3 came, they were taken down and replaced with her bow holder
I would recommend my photographer but she is no longer in the area. A friend of mine used the following and the pictures are beautiful

This. I think they are like engagement pictures; completely pointless. I had a maternity shoot with Sarah Schulte because I posed for her belly calendar, but I never printed any of them out. Spend your money on the newborn shoot, but I have to say, I really love the idea of a birth photographer. I would have loved someone taking pictures for us. We never even got the "first family photo" in the hospital.
Which belly are you?? You're on my fridge
I got the whole world, on my belly! I am April!!
For dd1 I had a friend take my maternity photos at valley forge park and I loved it mostly because it was something fun we did together. I made the photos into a photo book on shutterfly and I do pull it out and look at it every now and again when I feel nostalgic.
Thus time we had professional family photos taken and along with those the photog did several maternity type shots. I havent dine anything with them yet but I do like having them just to capture that moment in time.
Overall, I would not pay top dollar for maternity photos but I highly recommend documenting this time in your life somehow.

Haha Jen, I still have a sticker on the December page so I remember to give you the calendar when the year's over. I should probably just give it to you when you come over in a few weeks.
Since I cannot figure out how to post pictures on this website, here is a link to some of my maternity shoot and my painted belly
