Re: Vegas Baby!!
I adore Vegas. My favourite fancy restaurants are Bartolotta, Wing Lei and the Lake of Dreams at the Wynn and the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at the Paris.
Last time we were there we also enjoyed the duelling pianos night at the Encore, we had a fantastic time.
For your solo time it depends on your interests... you could go to a spa or simply walk around, visit the animals at the Mirage, gamble (duh, lol), take the crazy ride atop the Stratosphere, and the list goes on...
For shows I recommend Myst?re, O and Le R?ve. Other things would be the gondola ride at the Venetian, the Bellagio fountain show, the Sirens of TI show, Fremont Street Experience, etc.
ETA - forgot to mention that on the Lake of Dreams there are two restaurants, both very good and moderately fancy.
We were in Vegas for our 2nd anniversary and had a blast! I would give anything to go back!
Best airline...umm we flew out of philly on us air. southwest had good deals as well but we got a deal on us air and our hotel through travelocity!
Places to hit up on your own: Madame Toussous (I know I totally botched that spelling) is at Venetian and it's pretty cool! There are the gondolas inside and outside the venetian as well! Mandalay bay has the shark reef bay which was cool as well! Definitely see the bellagio fountains (during both night and day...there are different shows with different music and different water sequences each time). The eiffel tower observation deck is nice, especially at night! If you like to shop there are 2 big malls near the flamingo....there is the one that connects paris and planet hollywood and then the crystal shoppes near aria!
Fancy places for dinner: We LOVED dinner at top of the world at the stratosphere! Great food and the moving restaurant gives you a great 360 degree view of the city! Plus dinner gives you a free trip to the observation deck! I too recommend the eiffel tower restaurant! Great views of the bellagio fountains! good food and great service! If you want a little more casual (not like jeans but business casual) try Tom Colicchio's Craftsteak at MGM...that was my favorite place we ate at the whole week! Emeril's Delmonico was good as well!
Anything else you need to know: You're going when its gonna be nice out..probably a little chilly actually! But if you dont feel like walking to the really far away casinos there is a bus that for $7 a day you can ride it as many times as you want for 24 hours! It was a great help for us in the 104 degree heat, especially since we were at the Cosmo and wanted to go to the stratosphere and mandalay bay!
Shows: We saw Beatle's Love...it was ok! Myhtbusters were in town and pretty good! Copperfield and Blue man group are sorta a vegas staple and were really good!
hope this helps!
At sea, heading to Lisbon, Portugal
1. Probably Southwest. They also have good air/hotel packages, so check those out, too.
2. I'd just go shopping or maybe to the spa, but the spas in the hotels are really expensive.
3. We really liked Social House at the Crystals mall. We also had a fantastic dinner at Michael Mina at Bellagio when we were there a few weeks ago.
4. If you want to learn basic strategy for blackjack, Blackjack 101 Free is a good trainer app.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

If you don't mind walking around by yourself, there's plenty to see. Of course check out the Bellagio fountains and also the Conservatory inside. The Flamingo has a free wildlife habitat. The Venetian/Palazzo are both beautiful on the inside, and that's also where the wax museum is if you're interested in seeing that. There's a mall next to Treasure Island too.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Lavo @ Palazzo. It's Italian and they have delicious kobe beef meatballs. I would highly recommend Mystere if you want to see any shows.

Nobody cares what's on your feet but you and you can't even begin to imagine the amount of walking you'll be doing.
Also remember this -- just because you can see it doesn't mean you can walk to it. You're going to be able to see the Rio and the Palms and the Hard Rock from the Strip. Do not attempt to walk to the Rio or the Palms or the Hard Rock from the Strip.
We love Vegas... been 6 times!
1. Best airline to fly from Baltimore? I would assume Southwest, Delta, or Jet Blue. We're in NY.
2. Ill have a day and a half of solo time any must dos? I agree, depends on your interests. Shopping - check out Caesar's form shops, Venetian shops, Planet Hollywood. Spa - MUST go to QUA in Caesar's. I could spend a lot of time there. One of the best spas I have ever been to!
3. Recommend your favorite fancy-ish place for dinner. You know dressy but not black tie. Eiffel Tower Restaurant in Paris. Reserve a table along the windows for best possible view of the Bellagio fountains.
4. Anything else I need to know? There's something for everyone in Vegas. You can spend time just walking around and seeing the different hotels. Nightlife for everyone too. Other restaurants I recommend: Olives (Bellagio), CUT (Palazzo), Rao's (Caesar's), Bobby Flay Steak (Caesar's), BLT Burger (Mirage), STACK (Mirage). We saw LOVE Cirque de Soliel show and didn't like it. O and Mystere are better. We also saw Absinthe which was really good!! Not for the faint of heart - involves burlesque, profanity, etc. But it's a really good show. Mirage often has famous comedians, check out there if you are into comedy.
