I'll start today
Question of the day: What is your favorite cardio workout?
I went to a Zumba class last night, and OMG it is so.much.fun. I felt like such a tool, but it was totally awesome. It's kind of an aerobics/dance kind of class with Latin dance steps and music. OMG. So. fun.
Today's plans:
b- poptart and soymilk
l- leftover etouffee and diet coke
snack- berry smoothie
dinner- don't know. We'll probably be going out for dinner tonight. I'll likely try to have fish and veggies of some kind.
Ex: if it doesn't start raining, I'll take Sophie for a walk around the neigborhood.
Re: (#)Friday Check-in
Favorite cardio is the Bootcamp class I used to go to at my old gym. The instructor was amazing, and it was a killer workout. hundreds of jumping jacks, lunges, squats, pushups -- you name it.
Favorite current (and only) cardio -- swimming.
b: oatmeal, skim milk
l: taco soup (again :-P), apple
d: pizza night! and beer! I save my points during the week for fun dinners on Fri/Sat.
I have only taken 2 classes, water aerobics and step aerobics in law school. Both were really fun, but step really helped whip me into shape. I am hoping to start taking cardio kickboxing in January and keep up with the swimming. I love swimming.
Oh, Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii is fun, too. I haven't done it in ages. Maybe I'll break it out this weekend.
tlc, that is so cute that you might take your daughter for a walk. It was 7 degrees when I left for work. Yesterday's high was 21. Outside exercise is getting tabled for a while.
B - smoothie
S - donut, 1/3 c. granola
L - salad with chicken and cheese and vinaigrette
S2 - maybe yogurt; I've said this three days now, but I always skip
D - chicken rogan josh with rice and broccoli
Exercise: 30 minutes of elliptical and light weights this AM. Missed swimming last night because the lifeguard never showed to open the pool. Grrr!
zoe - is this a race? If so, good luck! If not, wow!
I did step for awhile at my gym, it passed by so quickly because I was concentrating so hard on not landing on my ass (I'm not particularly coordinated). My heartrate is naturally high, and can really skyrocket easily, so I think it was a little too much work to be doing much of anything for my weight (sustained HR of like 170, easy).
I like swimming and boxing on the Wii (Fit or Sports). Biking is usually fun too.
B - Frosted Mini Wheats w/milk. It was a very early morning.
L - I have a little turkey barley soup, and there should be half a bagel lying around.
D - We had the turkey soup last night (luckily I found leftovers at my mom's, 'cause I stayed too late chatting), so the pork steaks, potatoes, carrots, salad, are for tonight and decorating the Christmas tree.
I still haven't gotten around to exercising, but I'm thinking of parking far away for tomorrow morning's local Christmas parade and walking in (parking is a huge bear, and my family's cars are all filled with car seats). Bonus - more time to walk off the beer afterwards (festivities spill into the afternoon).
Favorite cardio? Whatever my personal trainer dreams up--I want to stab myself when I'm spending 30 minutes on an elliptical trainer or treadmill. So a lot of the workouts she creates for me have lots of cardio in them. The days she pulls out the boxing gloves and lets me take a few whacks at her are always fun
This week has been beyond challenging for me--work is a monster right now as we're at the end of the fall sports season. That means playoffs for football and picking the all-area teams in other sports. So my gym time has not been what it should be. I'm kind of taking it easy in the sense that this week, my biggest focus is getting back on track, eating wise. There was a good three-week stretch there where I had absolutely no self-control. (And throw in a week-long work trip with every meal out and you can imagine how well THAT went...)
Sticking to my WW points has been a lot harder than I thought it would be and every day, I've had to reach into my stockpile of flex points. But there's still a good amount left so, it shouldn't be too bad at my weigh-in on Monday.
Eating wise--I hope you don't mind if I don't always post my food for the day. Between journaling online, and on paper and for my PT, I'm kind of journaled out on the food reports
But rest assured--there's lots of lean proteins and veggies in there; we went out the other night for Mexican and I opted for the healthier enchiladas (ie, no cheese or ridiculous sauces) and packed half of it up for H's lunch the next day as soon as I could.
I also resisted the siren songs of margaritas and had diet coke to drink. That was a HUGE victory in my book! LOL
That is huge! Honestly, booze is probably the hardest thing for me when it comes to losing weight. And writing that out makes me feel like a complete alcoholic. But I'm not (I know, I know, denial). Look at where I live, though! If there ever was an area with a drinking culture, it's here!
Skipped breakfast - I know bad. But we had an early lunch of leftover tacos.
We are going to friends' tonight for an early holiday get together so I have no idea what foods will be there to eat.
My workout today - does cleaning house count? I swept, mopped, vacuumed and cleaned bathrooms!
Favorite cardio- are kidding? I hate exertion!!!
My workout today - does cleaning house count? I swept, mopped, vacuumed and cleaned bathrooms!
Abso-freakin'-lutely! If they can sell the idea in magazines, I think it's acceptable here.
