Back in the US

And I've got another hour and a half to waste in the Houston Airport so I thought I'd give a summary of the wedding and honeymoon for anyone interested.

I know wedding talk is nothing without pictures, but I don't have those back yet. It went wonderfully though. We kept it pretty small (about 50 people) and it was perfect. We are very lucky to have such amazing family and friends (including a couple of extra awesome nesties) who were able to celebrate with us and helped everything go smoothly. I probably cried 10 times that day easily. Connor had a freakin blast dancing at the reception. I'll have to share the thriller dance video sometime.

The honeymoon was a whole other level of awesome too. Here's a map of everywhere we went.

We spent the first few days in London and visited all of the touristy sites there like the Globe Theater, Tower Bridge, and London Eye and also Stonehenge/Avebury. We also spent a day at the Cliffs of Dover and exploring the town of Dover, which I loved.  It took some adjustment to get used to navigating the trains/tube/busses and the fact that everything closed at 4-5 pm.

From London we took a train to Edinburgh and I really wish we'd spent more nights there. We had a great hotel room with a castle view. That night we spent shopping and checking out the cute liittle bar/shop/restaurant area on Rose St. The next day we toured the castle and a Scottish weaving mill and then took another train to Inverness.

From there we drove along the length of Loch Ness on our way to the little town of Dornie to tour the Eilean Donan Castle and walk across the bridge from Kyle to the Island of Skye. So awesome. The next day we went on a hike and watched a movie before flying to Dublin.  The scenery everywhere was like something out of a storybook.

Dublin was my least favorite and I think that's mostly because our hotel was in a fairly sketchy area (and it was a Hilton, wut?). We saw the book of Kells and the Trinity College Long Library, which was super impressive but disappointingly (and understandably) didn't allow any photography.  From Dublin we drove out to Glendalaough and did another nice hike to view both lakes. On the way back we ended up on the most terrifying drive of my life. A tiny one lane (but two way) road with no shoulders or markings with walls/tall grass on both sides and of course we were driving on the left side of the road. It was dark, foggy, rainy, windy, and hilly. I nearly had a heart attack, but it led to seeing the most amazing waterfall and valley.

The next day we went to the Rock of Cashel and drove to Killarney. This was our favorite non-city location. We also had a castle view from our room and we actually got full and unlimited access to explore those ruins.

The next day we went to Bunratty Castle and the Cliffs of Moher and stayed in Ennis Ireland before heading home this morning.

I'm sure I missed something, because we did a lot of awesome stuff.
