This just makes me sick!

Here's an update to the explosion that happened on the south side of Indianapolis last weekend. It has now turned into a criminal homicide investigation.  IndifferentSeriously...who would do that type of thing!

  • I know, it's horrible - although, I'm not surprised.  After seeing her interview & hearing about how they boarded their cat while they went away for the weekend, I began to grow suspicious.  I'm assuming they didn't intentionally blow their house up to kill their neighbors.  I bet they thought their house would just burn down so they could collect the insurance money.  So sad.

Definitely - I thought it was strange that they boarded their cat as well.  I mean, we left our cat in the old house for 2 days (with food and water!), before we brought her over to the new home.  I'm guessing they thought it would just catch on fire and burn their house.  But still, so incredibly sad.  And if they do prove it was them... they have a lot more coming to them with all the charges that will be able to be filed against them.

  • Want to know something else that's really sad.  A lady that works in the office at DH's work lives in that neighborhood, like 4 houses down.  They won't be able to get into their house for at least 6 months they were told.  They were home when it happened, and ran outside to those houses.  They could hear the couple screaming in their house, but no one could do anything.  I could not imagine.  As bad as it is to say, I was hoping that they went quickly so they weren't in too much pain.  But, after hearing that, it's just heartbreaking.

  • That whole story is just heartbreaking. If they did do something shady I hope that karma comes around to bite them. I don't know how they will ever be able to figure it all out since the explosion was so intense. I feel so bad for the other people in the neighborhood who still can't go home. That would be awful!
  • Ky - that is horrible.  I feel so bad for those people.  I heard so many interviews on the news where people tried to help, but had to quit helping due to their safety, and people screaming.  It's heart-breaking.

  • That is terrible.  Sometimes the news seems so full of horrible and unfortunate events that I hate being aware of it...but we can't live in a bubble.

PS: How do I post a comment without 'replying' to the prior or main comment?  I see it makes me post a subject.  Is this how everyone is posting?  My apologies, I'm still rather unfamiliar with thenest

  • I hadn't seen this story, I've been following the trial for that sorry excuse of a human being Jessica Tata. 80 years is not enough.

  • Thanks for the update.  That was a ton of detail in that story!

People are amazing -- what a laundry list of criminal background they had!

UGH!!!  Just read that story - There's some days I think the sentencing should be whatever they did, they should receive (mind went blank - can't think of the term right this instance!)  Cases like that, cases where parents leave kids in the car (heard several of those stories this past summer around here when the heat index was well into the 100's).  Makes me so mad!
