Make Thanksgiving sides in advance
I will be cooking a 25 pound turkey, and having thanksgiving lunch (as opposed to dinner) so the oven will be taken most of the day.
I would like to make most things ahead of time and then reheat while the turkey rests.
How far in advance can I make the dressing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin bread, and dips?
Thanks in advance
Re: Make Thanksgiving sides in advance
stuffing you can certainly make ahead of time and reheat. I've decided this year to make our mashed potatoes in the crockpot and that will certainly help with oven space. I found a recipe for it on pinterest and its on my blog. I have tried it out and it was super yummy.
dips i'm sure you can make ahead of time. even veggies you can make ahead of time and then just throw them in the oven to warm them up once the turkey comes out.

I'm going to totally disagree here. We often make "refrigerator mashed potatoes", recipe below, that are designed specifically to make ahead and reheat. What's even better is that they are delicious.

jaime it's great you have a recipe for that! i guess that's the exeption, generally I find re-heated mashed potatoes to take on a whole other texture.
Put enough fatty, creamy goodness into something, it's always going to taste good. That being said, I usually use low-fat dairy, and it's fine.

great recipe to have! thanks!!
