Weekend Plans - Holiday Edition
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!!
I think we've covered what everyone is up to tomorrow but what are you doing with your other days? Who's going out tonight, shopping on Black Friday or staying home and not dealing with those crazy shoppers? What about this weekend; are you decorating your house and gearing up for Christmas or holding out for those last few weeks of Fall?
Re: Weekend Plans - Holiday Edition
DH leaves to go hunting on Friday night after he's done work so the next 4 days after that will consist of shopping, shopping, shopping and I want to do something with the house while he is gone. Either paint or something... not sure yet.
Friday I plan to shop online; however, I need to get H an outfit for Christmas pictures so I need to venture out at some point that day.
Saturday D has her 18 month checkup in the morning and then later in the afternoon I have an appointment at Target to get their Christmas pictures done. I wanted to go the cheap and easy with pictures this year so I just went with Target.
Sunday heading to Delaware with my mom to do some tax free shopping which will hopefully finish both kids' Christmas gifts. I'm usually still shopping on 12/24 every year so if I can bang everything out this weekend, I'll be so proud of myself. I'm super excited to shop for a girl this year so it gives me some motivation. Girls stuff is so much cuter. I'm so over all the Legos, video games, Nerf guns, etc. that we've been buying the past 10 years.
Tonight- We may be going to see Breaking Dawn. We went last year to see it the night before Thanksgiving too.
Tomorrow- Dinner at mom's
F-S-S- I need to venture out and get some containers to start packing up the nursery before the electrician comes out on Thursday to hang the ceiling fan (which still needs to be bought) and do some other work in there. This will also require us to clean the basement floor so we actually have a clean place to put things. We also need to go food shopping at some point and actually buy ceiling fans. It will be a busy weekend at home. I highly doubt any decorating is getting done this weekend.
Tonight, we are lounging around and watching movies. We were up early this morning, and got everything done (cleaning, laundry and dessert making).
I work on Friday, but most of my shopping is done. Also, it will be really slow here. So, I plan to come in late, leave early, scope sales on line and write our Christmas cards. He has a grade school class reunion on Friday night, which he will fly solo on by choice. I will make desserts for the festivities on Sat.
On Saturday, we are going to my parents for a big family lunch and that may go into the evening.
On Sunday, I may be doing brunch with my aunt who is in town and/or I will decorate the house and relax.
I am off on Monday and Tuesday, all of my shopping will be complete by the end of Tuesday. I may even have it wrapped and ready. This will be a stress free holiday with lots of eating and drinking at parties along the way!
I saw it last night and it was actually really good! Have fun.

The only plans are for Friday, we are doing our 3rd annual Del family holiday adventure which will consist of a subway ride to CC, T2's favorite part of the day, lunch somewhere, Comcast show, xmas village, Macys and visiting Santa. We will be there later in the day so hopefully all the crazy shoppers will be gone by then.
Other than that, cleaning my house, blah, and decorating. Maybe a trip to Franklin Institute or Natural Science museum with the kids if we didn't have enough togheter time on Friday

Tonight: It's our 3rd wedding anniversary! We're going OUT to dinner which is fabulous because I was originally planning to bring something home but DH is feeling better and wants to get out of the house. I could not ask for a better anniversary gift than him feeling more like himself! If he does well at dinner and feels up to it, I think we're going to meet up with friends in the city for drinks. But I don't want to push him so we'll see.
Friday: I'm going to talk to my boss about coming in for half a day. Our office is closed but there is a lot of stuff I could get done with no one here. I'm technically out of PTO and vacation days but we've got at least 5 more doctor appointments before the end of the year. My boss is great about letting me take the time to go to them but I'd still like to make up the time when I can.
Saturday and Sunday: No set plans. My mom will be in town the following weekend so I'll probably try to be productive with cleaning and organizing the house.
Today/tonight: praying for an early dismissal (or at least a "sneak away from office unnoticed" dismissal), so that I can get started on my cooking--cranberry sauce, apple pie, stuffing, and cornbread. I may try to do a green bean casserole, too (any recipes!?!). If all goes well, we may try to go see Silver Linings Playbook tonight. We may have friends sleeping over tonight, since they are supposed to be going out in the 'Ville.
Friday: Dermatologist appointment at 9am. Which is good, b/c I'll be up early and out of the house, then head over to our Produce Junction to get all of the outdoor swag for decorating the house. Thank God it's going to be warm on Friday! If we don't make it to the movies tonight, we'll likely go this day.
Saturday: 5K in the morning in the neighborhood, benefiting local non-profits.
Sunday: 15K on the trails at French Creek State Park, benefiting my waistline after over consumption throughout the weekend.
Today--hopefully getting out of the office early this afternoon and going home to bake.
Tomorrow--Dinner at my mom's
Friday--putting up our lights and outdoor decorations. Maybe the movies at night. I would like to see Lincoln.
Saturday--Movie, if we don't get there on Friday and maybe out to dinner
Sunday--no solid plans. Maybe starting a little Christmas shopping in the city where I hope it won't be as crazy as going to the mall. Going to Michael's for some Christmas crafting supplies.
I used to be a Black Friday shopper--never the type to go out at midnight--but I just don't enjoy the crowds anymore.

Tonight: this girl over here bought her pies already so no food prep for me! However, I am getting out at 2:30 and have to run to Giant after work to get my free turkey. Dun dun dunnnnnnnnnn (This is the stuff of my nightmares)
Tomorrow: Turkey day!
Friday: DH and I have decided to spend the day in the house. I will be making our own Thanksgiving dinner for us to veg out and eat in sweat pants. Glorious.
Saturday: no plans (yay!)
Sunday: Friends of ours are moving and DH was drafted to help. LV and I are not entirely sure what's on our agenda that day.
No set plans this weekend. Probably doing some online shopping, decorating for Christmas, and I do have a paper to write.
