Homepath REO Homes

We were told about Homepath through a friend.

"HomePath Mortgage allows a buyer to purchase a Fannie Mae-owned property with a low down payment, no lender-requested appraisal and no mortgage insurance. Expanded seller contributions towards closing costs are allowed. Available for owner occupants and investors."

Has anyone had a negative or positive experience with this??

Any advice, or comments are appriciated!! Thanks! Yes

Re: Homepath REO Homes

  • My SIL & her husband bought through Homepath.  The house was in really good condition when they looked and they put an offer in that day.  The offer was accepted less than a week later and they closed in less than six weeks.  Simple and easy for them.

  • We bought a homepath qualified home, but went a traditionl route with our financing.

  • Wow that sounds too easy! Thanks a lot!!

  • Was the traditional route easier? Or just better for your specific situation?
  • I just realized I created a post right after yours that is asking a similar question! The company we are looking through isn't Homepath but something close to it from what you are saying. The price we will pay is definitely an increase from what they bought the home for (we aren't in a position to get a home loan right now) but we love the house and the company said we can have everything wrapped up by Friday. We JUST called them to inquire about it Monday! Crazy fast! Hoping if we continue on, things work out as planned.! Good luck to you!

We got a better rate through a conventional loan and had 20% to put down.
