Question of the Day - Wed.

What are you all getting your boss and/or co-workers for Christmas this year?

P.S.  Can you girls tell I personally am completely stumped on my boss and figured I could use some of your ideas?!

Re: Question of the Day - Wed.

  • I've never given my boss or co-workers anything for Christmas (I've worked for the same company for 5 years now) so I'm not much help with things that I've ever done..but I have a few ideas:

Does he golf? fish? do any other outdoors activity? If so maybe a Dicks Sporting Goods GC (or another local sporting goods store)

Does he drink coffee? maybe a new thermus and some coffee or a GC to a coffee shop?

Maybe movie tickets/gift basket with popcorn etc.?

  • I am not help...we do an office pollyanna. Its easy and fun! :)

  • Nothing... at some previous jobs (when I made good friends with people I worked with) I would get them something small like a couple candy canes and card...but now I can't even be bothered with that. I work Christmas day, so I'll say merry christmas to anyone around then!
  • I have never given my bosses Christmas gifts and won't be this year either.

I've become very good friends with my co-worker who I share an office with though, so I will be getting her a gift.  She spent a year in France and loves all these French so I'm getting her a jewelry holder that is shaped like the Eiffel Tower.

If I were to get my bosses a gift, it would be something small and/or edible. I've seen some gourmet hot chocolate mix that comes in cute Christmas packaging, so I'd probably get them something like that or just bake them X-mas cookies.

  • I am honestly no help for this at all. My boss/co-workers are my family so I will already be getting them something but of course more personal since it's family.

However I do agree with the idea of a gift basket with movie tickets or a sporting theme including a GC to local store.

  • Well I am friends with my boss for my department and my fellow coworkers...so for our area we do a gift exchange/secret santa....its always been fun and we have a big party after christmas when we exchange :)    But as a store...nope  they throw a "christmas" party but nothing special so we make it fun :)
  • I usually do something homemade and edible for my boss and coworkers.

At an old job one year my boss got everyone a little mug with packet of hot coco, microwave popcorn and (this is how long ago this was) a $5 gift card to Blockbuster. It was really cute and very useful.
