So, this picture is huge, the better for you to see the huge piece of paint and metal missing from my car.
When I bought this car 5 years ago there had been a dent in it that had been repaired. The paint was cracked, but the cracks had been filled in. I'm pretty rough on my car and there has been no change to this area in the last 5 years.
I pick my car up from meineke and the whole area is missing. No mention of it from the meineke staff, I discovered it myself. They are watching the videos to see what happened.
My question for you guys: If they don't offer me an acceptable solution is this a valid reason to dispute a credit card charge?
Re: Car UPDATED
Sure seems like it to me! This is completely unacceptable.
WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I have no idea about disputing the payment...
$988
Thats a significant amount so I would definitely look info disputing or they should give you a refund and you take your car elsewhere to get it fixed from the damages they created. I likely wouldnt want them doing anymore work on my car.
Yeah, this is kind of how I feel. Honestly I'm sure it was a mistake but there's no way they didn't know it happened. It was a huge chunk of metal, it would have been on the ground or something. The part that bothers me the most is that I wasn't told about it. I don't trust them now.

FINALLY talked to them and they said what they see on the videos is the car leaving in tact on a test drive and coming back with a chunk missing (my words not theirs). They said nothing unusuall happened on the test drive and this is just one of those things and they don't plan to do anything about it.
I spoke to my credit card company and they said I could dispute any charges if I am unsatisfied with my service, but I can't dispute these charges until Friday. So that is what I will be doing.
this is crazy. you'll have to document everything.
I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this right now.
The Rowdy Roberts
um THIS! A car coming back with a chunk missing is very unusual.
Good luck. Sorry you have to deal with this crap
Obviously SOMETHING had to happen on the test drive. They need to take care of it!!
My dad looked at it last night and that's what he said too. And I took it through an automatic car wash on Saturday which I'm not sure I've ever done before and my dad said some water might have gotten in it and the brushes might have knocked it loose.
Question though if a repair person were taking your car on a test drive and something like a rock hitting the windshield or a nail puncturing a tire wouldn't you think they would at least take some responsibility since it happened while they were driving?
Oh I agree with that, the least they could have done was tell you!
