Have you started yet? What have you bought? Anyone you're struggling to find a gift for? What do YOU have to have this year?
Re: Christmas shopping
I started shopping already - I'm pretty much done with JJ. He's getting a LeapFrog Tag/carrying case/books, a Toy Story monogrammed jacket, some learning things [like flash cards and books to help him with his writing], some new clothes/shoes, and a Thomas the Train Steam 'n Speed. H wants a bowling ball [he's a good bowler and loves bowling], so that's all he's getting since that thing won't be cheap. My sister and I are combining to get my mom a basket full of things from Hawaii; I also got my mom a two-year subscription to Rachael Ray magazine and a new electric knife.
I have no clue what to get my dad. Maybe I'll just send him a gift card. I'm struggling with my sister, too, because she has no clue what she wants either. I'll probably just pay for some hip hop classes for her and get her some pashminas she's been looking at.
I don't want much this year. I do want a K-cup holder, some new cutting boards and some Thunder gear [I really like their new alternate unis and want a hat in that style]. My parents were talking about paying for my bowl game ticket if I wanted to go, but all the bowl games I'd want to go to either fall on New Year's Day [and I have to be back to work on January 2nd], or they fall after I have to be back.
I have a 20% off coupon for Kohl's that expires today, so I'm going to order a robe for DH. No clue what else to get him. We'll get a visa GC for future BIL, which just leaves my parents and sister to buy for. But I have no idea what to get the 3 of them
I would like perfume, pots and pans, towels, and bedding. A few other random things but those are the main ones. Oh and some GC for clothing stores--I really need to go shopping. ETA: I just found out my sister and her FI already set up their wedding gift registries, so I'll be shopping for them from that
I bought necklaces for both of my grandmas. Those came in. Otherwise, I haven't gotten anything else. The only person I'm really struggling with (I struggle every year) is my dad. I have no clue what to get him... I never do! H will be easy--we decided to book a vacation and consider that our gift to each other. So we'll do a few stocking stuffers for each other, but that's it.
As for me, there's a bunch of horse stuff I want. I also wouldn't mind new bed linens, and a few things for the kitchen.
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
I'm so behind! I usually do all of my shopping in September and October.
So far, I've bought my mom a sweater from Banana Republic and a purse photo album thing. I'm also going to get her an at home gel nail kit.
I've got Hadley a few books, a stuffed animal that says "ooohhh" with it's mouth open (she thinks it's hilarious), a toy, and a few outfits. I still want to get her a few more toys and a high chair.
I'm at a loss with DH this year. I'm thinking about getting him a shed for the backyard or a tool bench. He also needs work polos and jeans. And he wants weightlifting shoes.
My sister wants a few cans of hairspray and a long sweater that can go with leggings. I also have a picture frame I'm going to give her.
Not sure what to get my grandma, mom's husband or his daughter.
I want an iPad, fancy towels for my bathroom, mei tai carrier, photo albums, and a storm door.
I am SO over spending an insane amount of money on Christmas (like we did last year). We're buying for the boys and our parents, and that's it. I haven't done any shopping yet, but I bet I'll do a lot of shopping online. It's always difficult to buy for my dad and FIL.
As far as me... I'd love a new, nice kitchen knife, some tupperware that is functional and matches, maybe some new books or iTunes gift card (I listen to a lot of audiobooks).
I have started, but I have a long way to go yet. I'll probably end up with books and running gear for my sis, some kind of adafruit thing for H, camera things for my sister's boyfriend, possibly a ratchet set thing for my dad, and that's all I know for sure. I have already purchased the Naked 2 palette for a friend, some fun UD makeup for H's little sister (she's 14 and loves makeup, much to my chagrin), and one book for my sis.
Hoo boy. I really do have a long way to go, huh?
For me: I'd love a Barnes & Noble gift card for my nook, another pair of Pink sweatpants, or a Nordstrom gift card. I'm ashamed of my own Christmas list.
I have all of our dirty santa gifts bought and a few Christmas gifts. My MIL and FIL's wife are getting monogrammed market thermals from 31 (seriously the best things ever) my dad is getting a custom gun holster, my mom is getting a 2 hours message/mani and pedi GC for her b-day and Christmas (her b-day is on Christmas day) our older neices are getting wristlet wallets from 31, our older nephews are getting GC's, our few of our younger neices and nephews are getting monogrammed cinch saks from 31 and the other 2 are getting bean bag chairs since they already have 31 stuff. Not sure what FIL and C's step-dad is getting yet.
For me: fiesta ware, couch, i-pad. Sure I will only be getting 2 out of the 3 but oh well.
For C: No clue yet.
I bought all of DS's presents a long time ago (I do all my shopping for his toys at the consignment sale). He is getting a really cute doll set that was originally from Pottery Barn Kids that has soft doll with yarn hair and a hat box type thing with clothes in it. He is also getting some Little People stuff, some dress-up stuff and a set of plastic toy animals.
DD has already gotten most of her Christmas. We bought her a concert ticket and got her some new headphones early since hers died. I will be getting her a few DVDs and books to open on Christmas.
We are giving all of the parents family photos this year. I need to go shopping for frames and order the ones we want to give.
I also need to buy a couple of Dirty Santa gifts for my extended family gathering. We are doing some name drawings with H's family and with some friends but haven't drawn names yet, so I am waiting for the drawings to get started on that. We are cutting back a lot on Christmas this year since we are drawing names with H's siblings instead of buying for everyone and my siblings and I are not doing gifts this year.
I haven't done a single bit of my Christmas shopping. I typically knock most of it out on Black Friday, but I don't even have a list made up yet.
I can't decide if I want to get H a grill or a camo recliner for his man room. I'm thinking I'm leaning more towards a grill since it's something I'll get some use out of, too. That probably sounds horrible.
Most of my list is pretty easy to buy for except my in-laws. I NEVER know what to get MIL. So, I will welcome any suggestions. They just moved into a new house last week (from the one they've lived in since before H was born)... so I'm hoping this year will be easier than most to find her something.
I will probably scroll through my sisters' Pinterest boards to find them something. Pinterest makes it easy.
TJ-I am private messaging you on Facebook!
I haven't bought anything, ugh.
We decided our siblings and their significant others are all getting couples gifts this year. That will make things easier.
I never know what to give to FIL and my dad. Those two are always difficult.
We're buying master bedroom furniture for us.
I wish someone would do my Christmas shopping (well, actually all my shopping--I hate shopping) for me.
