Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!  We don't have internet at home yet...so my nesting can only be done at work right now! :-(  Anyone doing anything exciting for Thanksgiving?

Re: Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Happy T-day!

Tomorrow, we will go to breakfast with MIL, BIL & SIL and their 2 kids. MIL refuses to cook ever so we're going to Le Madeleine. Not really thanksgivingish, but whatever. Then we go to FIL's in the early afternoon, get home and get the kiddo a nap then have our own family dinner. H is making duck breast and sausage and duck dark roux gumbo and I'll make roasted spiced maple sweet potatoes and an apple pie.

We make the rounds for this holiday so that we are not obligated to see anyone on Christmas day.  That sounds mean, but I work a 60 to 80 hour week up til Christmas and done even get home til past midnight Christmas eve, so there's that.

  • Happy Thanksgiving, all!

We're making one stop at my family's "dinner" (they eat at 2pm!) and then off to MIL's for dinner #2.  I can't complain much because they're only about 20 minutes apart, but it still stinks to have to travel all over God's creation for the holidays.

Someday I will have a holiday at our house.  Someday.

  • Yes, Happy Thanksgiving!

We are out of town at Hs parents. Then the 4 of us are driving to my parents for dinner. It'll be 15 of us this year. My family, Hs parents, my Aunts family, my Uncle and Grandmother.

  • Happy Thanksgiving! We have our Thanksgiving in October, so I'm at work! :(
  • We're hosting Thanksgiving...as always.  Part of me doesn't mind it at all and part of me wishes for once I could just show up to someone's house and have them do all the work.

This year has been quite the disaster.  My aunt that lives in town that normally comes to help early has a broken arm and isn't able to help this year.  My mom who usually handles all the big things like turkey, gravy, etc. is throwing up today and so she's keeping her distance from the kitchen.

That leaves me...with bronchitis, a sinus infection, and an eye infection...to cook Thanksgiving for sixteen people.

Doesn't that sound appetizing?  Luckily I've been medicated with antibiotics and I'm taking extra precaution not to contaminate food! Needless to say, I might be thankful when Thanksgiving is over. =)
