more bragging about son!
Okay we got one of the scholarship award letters from Tulane today for $24,000. He is still in the running for 3 other full scholarship awards there but they won't be announced until spring. At least for now we have half of it covered if he chooses Tulane! Woohoo!
Oh some other news - his high school (which is also where I went) just got ranked 16th by U.S. News. They spent a week there interviewing the teachers & students. They focused a lot on the recovery the school had to go through following Katrina. It was my son's freshman year when it hit.

Thanks y'all! He is a good kid with the typical teenage attitude that makes parents wonder why did we bother with kids!!! LOL!
We are still holding out hope we will get lots of money from NYU but I have feeling Tulane is going to be the best. They are doing so much to try to keep Louisiana kids in state. 2 of the other scholarship awards he is up for are strictly for local students and they would be full tuition scholarships.
$52,000 a year for tuition, room & board whether is NYU or Tulane and that's not considering all his personal expenses. UGH! Young parents and parents-to-be need to start saving today!!!!
You're not helping my denial that there will be college costs for my future children.
