How did the BF shoppers do this weekend?

We went out Friday morning to Levin and scored a great "doorbuster" deal on a large dining room table, with a leaf, and 8 chairs. Then we headed over to Home Depot and got a few Christmas things.

I also did some online shopping on Amazon and TRU Thursday night, but that's about it!

Re: How did the BF shoppers do this weekend?

  • I did well!  I wouldn't say that I got any "WOW" deals, but I got a lot of stuff marked off my list, so it was worth it to me!  I did do a little shopping for myself at Express, they had everything in the store 50% off and I had gift cards, so that was exciting.  :)  We had a great time!

  • I typically avoid BF at all costs, but I did go out quickly with my SIL to snag a Crock Pot for $9.44 :)
  • We don't ever go out early, but I love going out shopping on Black Friday.

Steve has been wanting a new miter box chop saw (he wanted it for the dining room project, but didn't want to spend the money). Home Depot had it $200 off on Friday, so his mom bought it for him as a Christmas present. He spent a good bit of time the rest of the weekend slicing trim that definitely didn't need this new bigger saw for the "network nook" he's putting into our basement. He was so excited about the good deal on his new toy.

Other than that, we bought some things for family for Christmas, but nothing overly exciting.

  • I found a deal online on Saturday for a Kidkraft Dollhouse that's regularly almost $90 on Amazon. Their price was $69.99, and then it was marked down to $59 and some change when you added it to your cart. Then you got another 20% off plus free shipping and $15 in Kohl's cash - so we got it for around $35.

  • I got some nice prelit garland at Kmart for half off. There was cheaper stuff at Walmart, but I was looking for something that was somewhat realistic. I got a fleece at Target for $10, and a remote helicopter for my Treasures for Children gift (originally $34, down to $19). That's really it. I mean I bought other stuff, but nothing that was necessarily a BF special.

Small Business Saturday was a better deal for us b/c we got 20% at Learning Express and $25 back on our AmEx. So I was basically able to get my nephew's gift for free.

  • We went out later, but I got $50 off Nathan's new tablet (Samsung Tab 10.1). He is happy.

Then we went to Anthropologie for 20% off regular priced items and I got my sister's gift and coat for myself.

  • I don't think I got any amazing deals, but I got a few Xmas gifts marked off of my list and I don't think I overpaid for them.   I left my house on Friday morning at 6:30am and didn't get home until 8:30pm.   We don't go out crazy early, but it was a long and fun day!
  • I went reluctantly to Walmart Thursday night with my MIL. She got my DH the ps3 he has wanted for years. I picked up a printer for my sister since she is getting an apartment and going to school. The video game deals my DH wanted sold out fast but I found them cheaper on amazon.  I picked up stuff for the boys a week ago because I hate Black Friday shopping. And none of it went on any great sale so I don't regret shopping early.

  • I got most of my shopping done. Saved $260 or so.  That includes the $70 I saved on the Nabi 2 that I was able to score Thanksgiving Morning on Best Buy .com without having to stand in line at walmart at 8 pm! = )
