Scarves

Are they hard to make? Are there easy ones to make that look like an expensive gift?

Re: Scarves

  • Are you wanting to knit?  crochet?  sew?  weave?

I haven't done it, but apparently you can emboss polyester velvet material with a rubber stamp and an iron.

Hard to say if they are easy to make when we don't know what you want to make them out of! If you are kniting or crochet them (crochet is probably easier if you are new to it), they are fairly easy, but if its your first one, don't expect it too look expensive.

  • Here's one you can make with duct tape.  Sorry, no directions.

  • youtube has some good tutorials on crocheting scarves.
I crochet and make lots of scarves that I sell at events around town, or just to people I know. I've youve never done it before it will take you a few tries to get one that you think looks right. As far as whether they look expensive or not, that's your call. I sell mine for 15-20.

This is really easy and looks really nice, and there is a youtube tutorial on the site

  • I like to crochet scarves using the single stitch. A lot of times I use the Lion Brand homespun yarn because it is so soft, but it doesn't look expensive. You can always use the fun fur yarn or some other fancier yarn. I have used fun fur yarn a few times, but it can be a little more difficult to use than say regular yarn. GL!
