... and I will finally be receiving my wedding pictures AND the full rights to use them!!!!!
The judge in the case finally made a ruling to hand everything back to it's owners. I was going to have to go to Newark, NJ, to pick them up, which was okay because A) I want my pics! and
my parents live 30 minutes from Newark. Then I get a letter today -- the PA Atty Gen's office made a deal to get all of PA residents pictures so I was going to have to go to Philly to pick them up, again -- I want my pics so I'm willing to do ANYTHING.
I call to schedule pick up and told her I was coming from Hbg -- the lady told me if I gave her permission to open my box, she'd UPS them to me and they'd go out today!
SO I AM FINALLY GETTING DIGITAL COPIES OF MY WEDDING PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I can FINALLY have an album made! and I can finally post them for you ladies to see!!!!!! ![]()
BEST weekend, ever!
Best Christmas and Bday present... EVER!
Re: A Year and a Half Later...
TTC since Jan 07. Dx with PCOS Jan 08
I couldn't even imagine if that happened to me...I thought the 6 weeks I had to wait was too long!
Can you summarize the story of what happened?
Long story short: The owner of the photography company was arrested on tax evasion January 08 - he owed $600,000 to the Feds and $300,000 to the state of NJ. He kept booking clients after he knew he owed this much, yet knowing he wasn't going to give them their pictures, proofs, etc. Over 1000 couples were affected. Even as late as Jan 08 he was still taking on clients! Then one day, they just stopped answering calls, emails, and locked their doors. Thank god I had gotten my proofs (after threat of litigation!) and thank you wallets (after waiting 4 months! I had to send them in my Christmas cards last year!).
The State of NJ filed suit and impounded all the materials for the 1000 couples and then a 10-month long legal battle ensued, finally ending up with me getting my pics back! yay! Better late than never...!
wow. that's crazy! I'm glad things are working out for you now.
It kinda sounds like a "Kaufman's" situation...I'm sure some of you on here remember that! It was a bridal gown shop and they closed unexpectedly, leaving a ton of brides with no wedding dress! I don't remember what ended up happening, but I know it was a pretty big deal.
Have fun looking at your photos!
Awww, that's really great news!
I think this is the best thing I've ever heard our "wonderful" state governement accomplish!
