Question of the Day

What is your favorite restaurant, and what is your favorite meal to get there?

Re: Question of the Day

  • Favorite chain restaurant is Chili's, and I love love love their Texas cheese fries. It's an appetizer, but I will usually order it as my entree because I love them that much. My favorite non-chain restaurant is a place called Tully Cross that I used to go to in grad school. They had a Mediterranean Salad that was delicious. it had all the typical components of a Mediterranean salad as well as hummus. It was so yummy.

  • This is hard. Honestly the restaurant we end up going to the most because we are in the mood for it the majority of the time is Red Robins.

I think my favorite restaurant would be a little mexican place called Charlies. I know the owners well (used to work with the main cook) and its "real mexican food". and I live in Canada, where good mexican food is hard to find. It's expensive, but the atmosphere is great/I am supporing a small business of people I know and I love mexican food.

  • Chain restaurant would have to be Outback! I too am a cheese fries lover and theirs are so amazing when paired with their ranch dressing. I could seriously eat their food all the time and the ranch goes with everything! I infact eat it with everything. Local restaurant would be Trejos it's a mexican place that has been here for years and they have been growing lately they are up to 5-6 locations in 2 states I believe. It is probably not authentic but to me it appeals to more American people since I know most people don't eat some of that crazy stuff anyway. It's more simplistic and the queso is so amazing best one I have ever had since it has no tomatos or anything just straight cheese and milk (I told you it was simple).
  • My favorite restaurant in town is "The Brew-Pub". It's the local pub and the cook there is amazing! He catered our wedding and we got soooo many compliments on the food. He's also catering SIL's wedding next year. My favorite thing there is the Bacon Mushroom Chicken Burger with his Caesar salad... it's soo tasty!

As far as a chain goes... I guess Original Joes. (Not sure if it's just Canadian or not) it's probably the best chain we've got in town... but it's kinda expensive and the service is hit and miss.. but the food's pretty decent.

I LOVE the food at Original Joes...but the prices and the AWEFUL service (at least at the only one close enough to go to!) kand WAYYY too loud TV's keep us away.

  • Hmmm -- Hubby and I have several **read - we need to get back to the gym!

Fast food - Taco Bell - nothing better than the bell for fast food.  Cheap, delicious, fast and mexican!

Chain Resturant - Olive Garden - cannot get enough of their Zuppa soup.  Literally go and eat 3 bowls.  Finally figured out the recipe and can make it at home -- Hooray!

Local -  Roma's Italian Ristorante (for me) and Hunan's (for hubby).  Roma's has the best chicken marsala I have ever tasted.  Pretty sure I see heaven everytime we eat there.  Hunan's is a Chinese restaurant and Hubby just loves this place.  I am not a big chinese food person, so I could honestly care less.  On the positive side, it is the most clean chinese resturant I have ever seen.  I'm not sure if you guys have this problem, but chinese restaurants around here are so ugly and dirty it makes me not want to eat at all.  I can literally judge how good it will be based on their salt/pepper shakers.  Not greasy - good food.  Greasy - bad food.

There's a Chinese restaurant near us that if we order from them H has to pick it up because I can't stand the smell!! But it's really good, cheap, bad, greasy Chinese food!

For a chain my favorite is Olive Garden, although it's not local, the closest is an hour away!

Nearby, we live a block away from a pub called Patrick's. We go there often enough so the owner and wait-staff all know our name and drink order. They have a lot of good stuff, but their chicken wings are to die for! They also have some awesome chicken almondine!!

  • My favorite chain is Don Pablo's. I love that corn meal stuff they have! I always get two orders of it.

My favorite local place is a tie between two places: Firestones and Mikimotos. One has reallllly good brick-oven chicken and sausage pizza. The other has to die for sushi.
