Esyn

I know your due date is coming up in a few weeks--how are you feeling? Are Oliver and bullseye ready for a baby brother?

Other pregnant ladies--how's it going?

And sorry about my obscenely long pregnancy ticker, it will be remedied when I get in front of a computer when I'm back at work next week. This may be the only bonus of returning to work :(

Re: Esyn

  • Oh look, my attempt to updated pregnancy ticket completely removed it. Meh, that's better than being 47 weeks pregnant.....sweet baby heyzeus

  • Things here are going well. I am 27 weeks today. I've been feeling well overall, but am starting to get tired easily again. Monday night I came home from work, made dinner and felt like I had run a marathon as opposed to cooking dinner. I have my one hour glucose test on December 12. I've also finally caved and bought some maternity tops and a coat. I finally finished my registry, and we are having electrical work done in the nursery today.

  • Hi! I'm doing ok. I'm almost 35 weeks...hoping to keep this little guy in as long as possible. I'm pretty tired and sore by the end of the day. I kind of feel like I did the day after running a half marathon.

We're pretty prepared at home. I've been in major nesting mode! Maybe I'll post some pics of the nursery on here once it's done. The only thing we have left to do is hang the curtains.

We're all set up with CHOP to deliver there. I'll keep you updated on how he's doing and when his heart surgery will be...just hoping/praying everything goes smoothly (I'm sure it will). I've been having lots of ultrasounds so it's fun to see his face...from what I can tell he looks a lot like Oliver.

Um yes I want to see the nursery.

  • I'm like 19-21 weeks every u/s has given a differnet date. Awesome?

Had the a/s on Monday and everything looked good. Still team green. I didn't have the a/s with m so I wasn't sure what was going to go down but with my csection  and where my placenta is they want to make sure I'll be good to tolac/vbac.

  • Esyn - My bff's wife works on the CICU Cardiac Intensive Care unit, which I believe your son would be in after surgery, so I put in the word for you with her. She works weekends but is very close with all the nurses and staff on that floor. I told her to tell them to give you guys the extra special treatment. Feel free to PM me if you want her name, too.

HeatherWain: that would be great. I'll PM you my name, too. We'll be spending a lot of time there soon!

  • I was 20 weeks yesterday, which totally blows my damn mind. I'm feeling good. Sometimes I'm totally out of breath and sometimes I feel like I can do anything. We got preliminary results back from the amnio and so far so good. Hoping the rest of the results next week are the same and that the heart issues are isolated. We go for another echo next month and just hoping nothing else pops up and no more surprises! HW..I'd like that name too next year!

Not a problem at all. Do you want me to give you her name now? I think I said above but she works the weekends. However, she's been there for yearsssssssssss and years and years so I know she knows just about everyone on that floor.

ETA: And wow - you are 20 weeks? 1/2 way (or probably more than half way) there for you! How did this happen so fast!? :)

I can't PM you for some reason. Can you try to PM me?

oh and Esyn- I replied back to you again about the dr. Apparently he's the best in the country at what he does so hopefully that gives you some peace of mind in that aspect.

  • I'm 18 weeks! It's gone by so fast. I had a good OB checkup on Monday, and the baby's hr was 146. I have an anatomy scan on the 11th, but we aren't finding out what we are having.

I'm happy for you!!! Let us know how it all goes. We were "team green" last time and it was a lot of fun.

  • Thanks Esyn! It was my H's idea to be team green. We have had no surprises (or fun), getting pregnant, so this will be a nice surprise at the end of a long road :)

  • Esyn and Kernal, there was a former nestie named danalynnrd who is a registered dietitian in the CHOP NICU. She's super nice and has always been helpful when I've asked her questions about nutrition for my daughter. We are fb friends and I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you guys wanted to touch base before you give birth.

Sure thing. I reached out to her. You might see me at CHOP, incidentally, as I'll be doing my pediatrics rotation there from jan-may. Not sure if I'll be in any of the areas where you and the boys will be but I'll keep my eyes out.

I wouldn't mind reaching out to her, too. I'll be there for a couple weeks (at least) starting in late-Dec/early-Jan (whenever I deliver), and then again in April/May when they do the open heart surgery. We'll be mainly in the CICU. I think I only met you once in person (I was probably drunk at one of the big GTGs a while back). But it would be nice to see a "familiar" face while we're there.

I spoke to her yesterday and she said she'd be totally willing to chat with both of you. I sent Kernal her info last night, perhaps Kernal can send it to you?

I won't be at CHOP until later January but I will definitely reach out when my placement starts. I don't know yet where I'll be rotating but I'll do anything I can to support you girls and all of your guys, even if it's just to check in over a cup of coffee!
