The past few days....

...have been exhausting. I don't know if it's working full time or working at 5am or what. I can't keep up with my housework or my cats. (Weasley and Paws like do this thing where they chase each other around the apartment for hours and hours, knocking down everything in their path.). I'm so tired when I get home, I literally sit on the couch and do nothing all night. I feel so lazy but all I want to do is sleep!

I haven't really seen T at all either. He's work 60 plus hours, second shift at his job. I see him asleep, that's about it.

I'm hoping to use this weekend to catch up on housework, finish putting up a few Christmas decorations, do a tad bit of Christmas shopping, finish designign and order our Christmas cards and just recharge my batteries.  I'm very ready to get back to second shift. Hopefully getting on my old schedule will help.

Thanks for letting me vent and whine for a few minutes = )

Re: The past few days....

  • That really sucks that you haven't been able to see T much. It was the same way for me and Ben when I was working and going to school full-time. We hardly ever saw each other and when we did, usually one of us was sleeping. As for being tired all the time, hopefully your body will adjust to your new schedule soon!
  • Only sucky thing is that I"ll finally be done with training in a week and half and will go back to second shift! So right as I get used to my new schedule, it'll change again! It's going to be a rough month. = ( But, at I'm thankful for the promotion and at least it's a full time job now! T and I are learning how to manage our time, including time together. It's all a big learning process.

  • That sucks that you only have this new schedule for training! Well, then here's hoping that you don't get used to the early mornings, so that you'll be fine when you switch back to second shift!
  • Things will pay off in the end!  Keep your chin up girly!
  • Thanks everyone! I just hate being behind in housework. Not saying that T doesn't help, because he for sure does. We also have this agreement where he knows what "chores" are his and I don't get on his case about them being done. BUT saying that, with both of us working so much and being exhausted: the house looks like World War 3.

Yesterday we got the brakes fixed on our car and got some Christmas shopping out of the way. Today, after I teach Sunday school, it's for sure kick it into high gear for a few years and get the place looking better!

I am sure you mean hours instead of years...but it makes me giggle.

  • I totally know the feeling. J is starting "2nd shift"- which is actually more like 3rd shift next monday. I cannot wait to get rid of this schedule and go to the new one, even though it means sleeping alone.

  • haha yeah I meant hours! Geez, see what I mean? Haha.

Anyways, most people HATE second shift but I love it. And it's mostly because being on the same shift as T makes life so much easier. And it's because it's all I've ever been on since I've started working two years so I'm very used to it.

My exhaustion is probably from a variety of things but one of them is for sure I"m sleeping enough. I'm so stressed out about this training and promotion that I'm keeping myself awake. Last night I had a really long talk with T and today I had a long talk with my boss. I feel so much better about it. Hopefully I can sleep better!

That and T and I kick butt yesterday and cleaned house really well. Now I just gotta keep up on dishes, laundry and my floors and we'll be good to go! haha.
