I love Guitar Guy!

We went to see Jeff Dunham last night and it was a really good show... I really like Guitar Guy, he opened up for him and came on through out his act.  If you get a chance to watch thier Christmas Special on Comedy Central do so, it was great.

P.S.  I am soooo a mom now.  I was sitting there at like 9:00 trying not to fall asleep.... this age is rough with sleep!

Re: I love Guitar Guy!

  • I thought he was awesome!  In some ways he was funnier then Jeff...at least at our show on Thursday.

  • I'm so excited to see him! Can you girls tell me one thing, was Jeff's act "new" (or at least mostly new)? I've never been to a comedy act and  I was just wondering if he'll use one of the acts we've seen on tv or if its all mostly new stuff?

  • I believe alot of it was from his Christmas show...which did run on Comedy Central.  I had not watched the whole thing (only about 5 minutes of Peanut) but everything I saw on CC was in his show on Thursday.  The only thing I was disappointed about was I would have loved to see more puppets. (I love Melvin!  The superhero.)  I was laughing so hard I was tearing up at Achmed.

  • I agree...  I think he was funnier than Jeff.  I have not watched alot of Jeff's comedy so I am unsure of what is new or not but he did say that if you watched the CC special that there would be some repeats.  I overheard a guy talking on the way out that he was surprised at how much was new.

the funny thing was that for the encore he brought out Billy bob (or whatever his name was, the hill billy puppet) and Jeff said that he has not brought him out in awhile so be would have to use a cheat sheet.  The audience was yelling out the punch lines to all the jokes... it was great.  It was like it was in surround sound.

So i guess parts of it is old.... but you will enjoy yourself Ky.

  • He used Bubba J (the hillbilly pupper) at the Wilkes Barre show too.  And he said the same thing about not using him in awhile and used a "cheat sheet" for the jokes...I am sure it was not a coincidence.  But still funny nonetheless!  The whole crowd was quoting the jokes as well...I found that hilarious because some of the people attending could have been related to Bubba J.
