Tulsa recommendations

A friend of mine is moving to Tulsa for a job contract - it could be anywhere for a few weeks to a few months.  Whenever she moves to a different city, I always check with the local Nest boards for that city for recommendations.

Where are some good places to go to eat (MUST be a locally owned place). Any good breweries?  Places to watch sports games after work ( a place she can relax and not be bothered).  Any must sees for the area.

I'm not sure what area she will be staying in, but she is usually open to exploring where ever.

TIA!

Re: Tulsa recommendations

  • I am not super familiar with Tulsa since I have always lived in the OKC area, but I would definitely recommend eating at Mod's Coffee and Crepes downtown.  We go every time we visit Tulsa.  The Philbrook art museum is pretty cool, and if she is into architecture, The Price Tower, Frank Lloyd Wright's only skyscraper, is nearby in Bartlesville.
  • The "Blue Dome District" (in the downtown area) is really neat and have a lot of locally owned eating places. I highly recommend Joe Mama's pizza in that area-very delish! I have heard of good coffee shops in the BDD/downtown area but never really checked them out. Utica Square is good for shopping and dining as well. I don't really do museums and such but I know there are some nice ones in Tulsa.

  • Thanks! I appreciate your responses.
  • Gosh, I luv Tulsa but just can't think of anything for some reason. Cherry Street is a lot of fun - lots of locally owned places and fun dive bars.
