Nother annoying (@) question

And I promise I wont bug you again for a few days :)

So, i'm stressing out about my first appointment. You see, I was charting, and I Oed a week late, CD 22 to be exact. SO, my schedule with the doc is all effed up. When they say I should be 8 weeks i'll really only be 7 weeks. I'll be 8 weeks on the 28th and my appointment is on the 29th.

This is why I am stressing. I want to tell all my family at christmas - but I wont have a doc apt to confirm it for realz before then or see a heartbeat or anything. So I'm scared of telling everyone only to find out 4 days later that I had a blighted ovum or some crap.

Should I try to move my apt up to the 22nd? i'll be exactly 7 weeks then even though the doc will say i'm 8 weeks. Is that too soon to do the "8 week apt" stuff? I don't wanna do it too early  and then not be able to see/find anything.

I'm stuck, help!

Re: Nother annoying (@) question

  • Personally, I would probably move the appointment up if you have your heart set on telling your family at Christmas. I think they should still be able to tell that early whether everything is OK or not and if it's too early, they'll just tell you to come back again.?

Week 7 - Gestational Age (Fetal Age 5 weeks)

Generally from 6 ? -7 weeks is the time when a heartbeat can be detected and viability can be assessed. A normal heartbeat at 6-7 weeks would be 90-110 beats per minute. The presence of an embryonic heartbeat is an assuring sign of the health of the pregnancy. Once a heartbeat is detected, the chance of the pregnancy continuing ranges from 70-90% dependent on what type of ultrasound is used. If the embryo is less than 5mm CRL, it is possible for it to be healthy without showing a heartbeat, though a follow up scan in 5-7 days should show cardiac activity.?
