Dress shopping?

My sister and I will be shopping for bridesmaid dresses in a couple of weeks. We don't really know where to start...any suggestions? TIA!

Re: Dress shopping?

  • A friend worked at Bella rose in Edmond and really liked them.

  • Agree about Bella Rose.

You might hit up David's Bridal too. I know some people are against buying from that store, but the plus side is that they have SO MANY different styles to try in one place that it can help you figure out what types of cuts and fits are most flattering, so when you go to a smaller store you have an idea of what will likely work in case they don't have something in and you have to order it.

  • I think pomp and pageantry offers free alterations. A lot of salons offer discounts if the bridal gown is purchased there, so that may point you to a particular place.
  • Honestly? I would have the dresses made. I was in a wedding this fall - the dress was from David's and cost $150. One hundred and fifty dollars. Then, I had to spend $50 to get it altered because it was ginormous because their sizing is completely effed up. I had my girl's dresses made at the Bridal Showroom on May and they were $120 AND they were silk. Plus, the girls really liked the fittings and such - who doesn't love being doted on?
  • I'm sure we'll look at DB--we both got our wedding dresses there and like ginger said they do have a lot of styles available. Plus, they have a lot of sizes and I'm afraid other stores may not have sizes that are big enough for me to try on? I'll definitely suggest looking at those other 2 places though, thanks! I'll also suggest Bridal Showroom, having them made hadn't really crossed our minds...

  • Kevin wanted a vest made for our wedding and tried to work with Moe (formerly of bridal showroom but now on his own) and he completely dropped the ball. We were pretty disappointed.

If you're looking at DB, check out Alfred Angelo for a similarly large selection.

  • We purchased all of our dresses at Bella Rose.  My sister actually liked her dress so much she has worn it two more times.  Tara was awesome!
