Who's prego on here (ot TTC)?

Just curious :) and wondering what made you start trying? Did you have a timeline in place? and how'd you tell DH?

Re: Who's prego on here (ot TTC)?

  • We've been TTC since June. I'm hoping we have a little bundle of joy by the end of next year.

  • We are on month 10 of ttc.  Getting DH's second SA results tomorrow morning..  I'm afraid they are going to say our chances of it happening naturally are very very small.

  • I was pregnant earlier this year, but we made the difficult decision to terminate after getting some bad news from a cvs test. :(   I don't know if we'll try again, but I have to wait 3-6 months anyway for everything to repair itself.

  • Idawngirl and Ky I'm sorry you're both having a hard time. Best of luck to the both of you.

We started TTC the day after our wedding. After 10 years of being together and living alone for 2 of those years we are definetly ready.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you are doing okay!

  • DH and I started trying in March, but stopped because I needed to have hernia surgery before I could TTC.  We started trying again in May whenever I was clear to start that again.

We knew we wanted to have the townhouse sold before we started TTC.  We really weren't planning on selling/buying until Spring 2013, but we decided to move things up a year.

I really didn't tell him in a cute, special way.  We were getting ready to go camping from Fri-Sun and I realized from Fertility Friend on Thursday that I was a day late already.  I told myself that if AF didn't show up by Friday night, I would take a test.

We were literally walking out the door to go camping when I ran up to the bathroom to take the test.  The positive line was soooooo faint.  I called DH upstairs and said, "Um... can you come look at something?" and we stood there and didn't know whether it was positive or not.  I then waited it out the entire weekend of camping until I could get home and test again Monday morning.  DH was still sleeping when I took the second test and it was positive right away.  I waved it in front of his sleepy face and he just said, "Okay."  He's a morning grump. :)

  • Idawngirl, sorry to hear that. I can't imagine what that must have been like for you. I hope you're doing well and wish you luck in whatever you decide to do in the future.

Ky, good luck on the SA results tomorrow.

  • We always planned on starting TTC in October of this year. In June, I changed my mind and wanted to start earlier. DH was reluctant at first, but eventually agreed and I went off BCP the beginning of July. This month was the first time I ovulated since coming off the BCP. It was a long, frustrating five months, but hopefully my body is back on track and we make a baby soon.

  • We're going to start TTC later this month.  So nervous and excited at the same time!

  • We stopped preventing in Jan of this year and decided to just go with the flow and see what happened. I was pregnant by March and then lost the baby over Memorial Day weekend. Since we had already decided we were moving out of state, I downloaded an app on my phone so I could start tracking so we would know when to use protection and when not to since we wouldn't have insurance and would be in the middle of a major life adjustment. Now that we've been in NC for a few months, I have looked into my options since we still don't have insurance, and the hospitals here have cash plans for people without insurance that are significantly lower than if we did have insurance. That would also give us time to shop for plans for our little one on the way. So, we have decided to start using the app for what's it's intended for. This month we definitely did the deed (a few times ;)) around the time when I would be ovulating so it could go either way.   I'm trying not to get my hopes up b/c I've also had some false alarms that left me very disappointed so I'm trying to get back into the "go with the flow" mentality. It's really hard though especially since I just found out that my sister-in-law is pg with her 3rd! I'm thrilled, thrilled, thrilled but I'm not going to pretend that it doesn't sting a little! I truly believe that God has a plan for us and that everything happens for a reason so I know our time will come!
  • We've been trying for 11 months. We have some issues, so we will start infertility testing (and any necessary procedures) with a Reproductive Endocrinologist mid-January. Almost a year to the day from when we started TTC.

ETA: I had a timeline. It didn't work. Then I had another one. That one didn't work either. So now I'm not worrying about timelines.

  • We just started ttc this month. I'm 32 and the women in my family tend to start menopause early (my mom was 39), so we figured if we wanted plenty of time to have more than one baby, that now was the time. At this point, we may be popping kids out back to back!

  • I went off the pill in Feb of this year and we  were not trying and not preventing . In May I started using OPKs and tracking my temps using fertility friend and got my BFP in July... EDD is April 1st.

I planned on telling DH in a special way, but when I saw that second line on the pee stick, all that went out the window and I woke him up and shoved the stick in his face.

  • My heart goes out to all of you who had to make difficult decisions and wish those TTC all the best! Being in healthcare, I've found that about 20% of pregnancies result in miscarriage and we've had some false alarms too. I know you can never plan everything, but, babies are a huge life-changer so it's definitely helpful to get your guys' opinions and feedback. I think now that we've been married a year whatever happens is all good. Best of luck on SA results, you inspired me to get checked for endometriosis since it runs in the fam

I don't think you did. You were proactive (because if you think something is wrong its good to get it checked out) and it's a good thing you found out now. I know it still hurts, sucks and is worry some. Best of luck on TTC.

  • We are pregnant right now with #2! We are due January 28th, so it's just around the corner. We started in March of this year. With already having DD we didn't want to wait to long. I didn't tell DH any special way, just told him to come to the bathroom and showed him the test.
