Interview - When to follow up
I had a job interview about 2 weeks ago (11/26). I followed up this past monday, one week after the interview, and I was told that they really like me, but that they still had a few other people scheduled to come in and interview for the position. I said thank you, and to please let me know because I'd love to work with them, but I'm currently interviewing with other companies (this is true). When can I follow up again? I'm getting into later stage interviews with these other companies, but I really want this one job. I don't want to be annoying, but there is some urgency.
Re: Interview - When to follow up
You already followed up, now it's their decision, I work doing hiring for hospital and I don't like being asked more than once for status. If they are interested, you will get offer, good luck
Do most people follow up at some point or would you say more people don't follow up but just wait for a call?
Most people don't follow up, out of 40 applications for a position, we interview the best 3, most don't follow up. Every blue moon, we get a thank you email. We don't hire based on thank you notes or follow up. We hire based on how interview went and their skills/education.
You could always accept another offer then put in your two weeks notice when (and if) your first choice makes you an offer.
You could, but that's not exactly the right thing to do. Especially in my industry, which is kind of small.
I am not saying I would do that. I was just trying to give you a different prespective is all.
You already followed up with your company of choice and let them know about your situation (.i.e. multiple job apps).
Just wait and see what job offers you receive, then weigh your pros and cons.
Good luck!
One of the companies I'm interviewing with is checking references, which means its pretty much final, so I emailed the other company for an update and let them know the status.
